Cryptocurrency mining is not “as” profitable as it used to be. Between China’s ban on mining farms, the rise in the price of electricity, the drop in the price of major cryptocurrencies and the low stock of graphics cards in the current market, the bursting of the bubble and less and fewer users are interested. However, manufacturers like Sapphire (which, let’s remember, only does graphics from AMD) seem to want to resuscitate this interest, or rather maybe remove accumulated stock of the previous generation of GPUs of those in red.
This Sapphire mining GPU has two AMD RX 570s
Sapphire seems to be brewing a new graphics card model specifically designed for cryptocurrency mining, and it looks like it’s going to do it through the front door as we are faced with a graphics card that despite the previous generation GPUs from AMD, integrates two units of these. This graphics card therefore has GPU back RX 570 (Polaris 20XL) on a single PCB, each with 2,048 stream processors coupled with 8 GB of memory (for a total of 16 GB).
This graph for mining shows a total consumption of 156 watts (each GPU therefore with a consumption of 78W) and, however, this number can only refer to the power of the ASIC and the total consumption of the card could be higher. This graph reaches a hashrate of 59.69 MH / s
Unlike many other graphics cards designed for cryptocurrency mining, this Sapphire GPU has video output, in this case a solitaire HDMI port but that only with this allows us not to need another graphics card in the system to be able to connect the equipment to a monitor and see what it is doing.
By the way, a curiosity about this graphic is that Sapphire seems to have tried to hide their logo in it, as can be seen in the pictures, but even so under the heat sink, you can see the logo of the therefore mark with This we know that indeed, Sapphire was responsible for its manufacture.
Beyond this information appeared on the network, other details are unknown, including of course the intentions of the manufacturer for its launch and, of course, the price at which it would be supposed to arrive on the market is unknown (in fact, keep in mind). mind that it is possible that this is just a test model and will never reach the stores).
