Get out your paddles, because Strictly will soon be back on our TV screens.
The BBC has been gradually revealing the names of the celebrities who will take part in this year’s competition, as it approaches its autumn broadcast. However, the show has made headlines for other reasons, with several former contestants speaking out about negative experiences with their partners and producers.
Since then, two professional dancers have been fired and an investigation is still ongoing. If you want to know what’s in store for Strictly 2024, we’ve got everything you need to know.
When is Strictly coming back?
The BBC has yet to confirm the exact date of Strictly’s return. However, we can estimate the launch show’s air date based on previous years.
For the past three years, the pre-recorded launch shows have aired on September 16, 23 and 18 respectively, with the live competition beginning the following week.
This shows that the show airs in the second or third week of September, on Saturdays. Therefore, we estimate that Strictly 2024 will start airing on either Saturday September 13 or Saturday September 20, 2024.

Aljaž is back on the show after a two-year break. He is married to Janette Manrara and won the competition in 2013 with Abbey Clancey.
Two dancers are missing: Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima. These two former professionals left the show after being accused of abusive behavior and harassment by former partners.
The BBC is currently investigating training footage.
Who are the presenters and judges of Strictly 2024?
Once again, Tess Daley and Claudia Winkelman will return to host the main show, with Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke returning as judges.
It has not yet been confirmed whether Janette Manrara and Fleur East will return to host the It Takes Two spin-off show, which interviews the couples and goes behind the scenes of production, costumes and training for the competition.
The same goes for the official Strictly podcast, which has previously been hosted by Joe Sugg and Kim Winston, who provide more information and gossip about the competition for audio listeners.
Who won Strictly Come Dancing 2023?
EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier and Bad Education actor Layton Williams had a fierce battle for the mirror ball trophy, but it was Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach who took home the title with her partner Vito Coppola.
They earned a maximum of 40 points for their American Smooth routine. However, they made a major mistake in the last lift of their showdance. Nevertheless, this did not stop the 22-year-old from taking victory in the final of the youngest competition in the show’s history.
