Our verdict
If you have the space, the Tefal Easy Fry Air Fryer Oven offers a lot: faster grilling, baking and roasting than a conventional oven, paired with the ability to dehydrate, reheat and fry at the air. However, it’s more expensive than most air fryers, doesn’t have the convenience of being able to shake out a drawer, and isn’t as easy to clean. Those looking to replace an air fryer may find it lacking, but if you’re looking for extra oven capacity, with a few extras, this time and energy saving gadget delivers .
Air frying enthusiasts who crave more capacity, avid entertainers who often need extra oven space, and busy households: all are sure to find the Tefal Easy Fry Air Fryer Oven a great purchase. Essentially, it’s a small oven that heats up quickly, allowing it to do everything your large oven can do (e.g. roast, pizza, reheat), but on a smaller scale and faster.
Unlike a conventional oven, it comes with accessories that give it more versatility, including an air fry basket for making healthier homemade fries and cooking frozen treats, as well as dehydrating meat, fruits and vegetables.
While it’s not as cheap to cook with as a smaller air fryer, as an 1800W appliance it will still cost a lot less than using your oven.
Design and build
- 41x35x35cm
- Seven presets
- Comes with kitchen accessories
Although its air fry function is the flagship feature, the Tefal Easy Fry Air Fryer Oven is significantly larger than a standard air fryer, with a capacity of 20 liters, and takes up a good portion of the workplan. It is 41 cm deep, and you will need to provide space at the front for the drop-down door, with a width of 35 cm and a suitable height. Additionally, it requires at least 15cm around it for air circulation, so there is no need to store it in a corner or under tall units.
Fortunately, it’s quite pleasant to watch. When it’s off, all you’ll see is its glossy black finish and metal control dials: only when it’s on is the screen visible.
There are seven preset programs, including bake, grill, roast and pizza, plus two manual modes for toasting bagels and reheating, plus automatic keep warm after a program. These are easily selected using the control dials: one scrolls through the program menu, while the other changes the time and temperature, with a touchscreen button to switch between the two.

Four accessories – a baking sheet, frying basket, crumb tray and rack – will slide onto three rack supports inside the 20-quart cavity, meaning you can cook more than one type of food at a time. However, none of them are dishwasher safe.

Performance and Features
- 20 liter capacity
- No shake function
- Harder to clean than a standard air fryer
From an air frying perspective, what the Easy Fry Air Fryer Oven offers most is space: its basket allows you to spread a large amount of food in one layer, eliminating the need to turn it as often as you would in a standard oven. air fryer.

The oven cooking guide advises you to prepare up to 700 g of homemade fries in this way. We prepared a batch of freshly chipped potatoes, tossed them in a small amount of oil and used the air fry program to cook them for 30 minutes at 180°C – a lower temperature and longer time. longer than most air fryers.
There was no alert to flip the chips halfway through cooking, but we did it with tongs, which took more time than a quick toss of the basket. The bottom of the potato was pale and we turned the basket over at the same time because it looked like the bottom pieces were starting to burn. Once cooking was finished, the results were mixed: some chips were very crispy, while others remained soft. All were cooked well, but the bottom of the potatoes didn’t seem to get as much heat despite the wire basket.

The stated position for the air fryer basket was at the top of the oven, suggesting that this is where most of the heat is generated when using this program. With fewer pieces and a time or temperature setting, this could be a good option for making a family-sized batch of chips.
Next, we used the toast mode with the settings for a bagel: a browning level of 2 instead of 4, set for four minutes. This toasted the bagel halves nicely: browning the top properly without toasting the outside too much, like a toaster.

We liked that the crumb tray underneath kept the interior of the oven cleaner than without it, but we felt that the oven’s ability to broil would be more useful for browning multiple pieces of bread or bagels rather than just one. Additionally, when toasting bread, you will need to be present to turn the slices like under a grill.
We also tried the roasting program, placing the chicken thighs on the rack with the baking tray (we managed to fit five comfortably). For this, the advice was to position the tray at the bottom of the cavity, and cook at 200°C. We have adjusted the suggested time for a 1.2-1.5kg whole chicken (45-55 minutes) to 30 minutes. The thighs came out with bubbling golden, crispy skin and were well cooked in the thickest part.

There was, however, a lot of grease and juice splatter in the cavity, which had to be wiped away once the oven cooled. This meant cleaning took longer than an air fryer: most of which have drawers or baskets that can be put in the dishwasher. Although the cavity is easy to wipe down, the need to clean it after each use and wash the accessories by hand makes keeping the air fryer oven spotless even more of a chore.
Pricing and availability
The Tefal Easy Fry Air Fryer Oven has an RRP of £249.99, making it more expensive than most air fryers. However, this is not outrageous, considering its large capacity and number of uses. But even though it’s widely available in the UK, its price varies from retailer to retailer. At the time of writing, the best price comes from AO.com (£189), followed by Amazon (£200), Argos (£230) and John Lewis (£249.99). We recommend it as a flexible option for families who need more kitchen space.
Should you buy the Tefal Easy Fry air fryer oven?
While the Easy Fry air fryer oven does indeed work as an air fryer, it’s all of its other functions that earn it a (significant) place on your kitchen counter. Considered a multitasking mini oven that also allows for air frying foods, it is also ideal for those who love to entertain as well as busy households who may not want to spend money on heating an oven full size for fries or pizza.

From slices of toast for breakfast, dried fruit snacks, to grilled vegetables and fish for lunch and delicious dinners, the Easy Fry Air Fryer Oven can be your go-to gadget throughout the day.
