When we go on a trip, if we plan to use the laptop, especially if it is for professional purposes, we cannot count on a constant internet connection to download the applications that we may need at any time to do our work.
The same thing happens if we take the computer with us when we go on a leisure trip. The internet connection of the hotels is shared with a large number of devices, so the connection speed is very low. In addition, some websites are blocked to avoid, so it is possible that we cannot download a cert ain type of content.
When I go on a trip and/or vacation, I always take my laptop with me with the apps that I know for sure I will need and others that I probably will need.
Essential applications on a laptop

- Photoshop. If we are Creative Cloud subscribers, a must-have application is Photoshop, the most used photo editor in the world. If we are not subscribers, we can use GIMP Or Has fallenboth more than functional open source solutions for photo editing.
- DaVinci Resolve. If, in addition to editing photos, you also want to edit videos, one of the best options available on the market is DaVinci Resolve, a free application that has little or nothing to send to Adobe’s Premiere application, although the free version is not as complete as this.
- Desk. To write documents, after the disappearance of WordPad in Windows, the set of applications cannot be missing if I want to create a document, a spreadsheet or a presentation. Instead, if we are subscribers, we can select the suite of open source applications LibreOffice .
- VLC. To play my favorite songs and videos that I make with my phone or that I have downloaded from the Internet, you cannot miss the VLC application, the best audio and video player on the market and which, in addition, is totally free and open source.
- Netflix / Disney / Prime Video. In order not to depend on the Internet connection to watch my favorite series and movies, always download the Netflix, Disney and Prime Video apps beforehand to download the content and watch it whenever you want. MAX does not allow downloading content for offline viewing.
- WhatsApp. To make video calls, the application I use is WhatsApp, an application available in the Microsoft Store and which makes video calls much more comfortable than using a mobile phone.
Other applications that I also use on my laptop are Perspectives to access emails and the app mobile link to copy the photos and videos I take with my cell phone to the computer without using cables.
Both applications are installed natively on Windows, so you only need to configure them before using them. There is also no need to download WinRAR since it is also available natively on Windows 11, but not on Windows 10.
HAS read PDFs I also don’t need any applications since all web browsers offer support for playing this file format, without the need to install third-party applications.
