Investing in your car or dash cam can be a good idea. These cameras record every time you drive (some models while parked), so you have proof of what's possible.
It works to send a video clip to your insurer and thus help resolve any lawsuit to avoid any claim against your policy. In most cases, having a dash cam or camera in your car can be very expensive.
If you're worried about how difficult it can be to install a dash cam, don't worry, it's very easy to fix and its installation won't cost you more than 30 minutes.
The big question is which car camera you should buy and if you need additional tools. Below you will find our recommendations for the best camera for your car, all from different budgets.
If you can afford it, it would be good for a dual-camera system to capture multiple angles by recording from the back window and from the front.
Shopping Guide: What to consider before purchasing a camera for your car
Generally, all models of dash cam they record the video in the form of short clips, and when the memory card is full they start overwriting the clips.
It is therefore recommended to purchase a G-sensor camera that is active at impact, as this will prevent the current clip from being removed.
Some car cameras come with a second camera to record the view from the back window or wardrobe. Many users end up saying it's worth investing less and getting more camera.
If you have a 12V socket attached to the trunk and front of the car it can cost the same – or cheaper – to buy two different dashboard cameras, but then you have two memory cards with different videos.
Don't be influenced by the wide angle lens: the higher the number, the less everything is in the center of the image. We prefer a lens with a viewing angle of 140 °, or less.
Image quality varies and high resolution does not automatically mean better quality. Read our reviews to find out how each model works.
Producers often talk about "nightmares" but this can be misleading as a solution. Also, check the reviews to see if the dashboard camera is ready for recording at night.
Additional features like GPS may be helpful, as they will record your exact location and speed, so you can test your whereabouts and speed.
Wi-Fi, on the other hand, is less efficient as it quickly copies the video clips by removing the SD card to insert it into the laptop or reading the PC card.
We have found that safety features such as traffic alerts or traffic alerts are less helpful because they don't work reliably enough, but those that warn you about location security cameras can be very useful.
Most models have parking mode, but usually you have to connect the dashboard camera and fuse box of your car so that there is constant power supply, to use them.
Finally, leave space in your MicroSD card budget because most dashboard cameras do not come with one. Here are the best microSD cards you can buy.
Nextbase 312GW
Model for dash cam Nextbase 312 GW It is an excellent model that meets all the requirements that can be expected from a car camera.
It provides good recording quality during the day, is easy to use and has a very powerful electronic mount, as it allows you to quickly remove and place the camera without cable connection.
It has GPS integrated, and it's very easy to install: the camera is already fixed, so you have to put it in the front window and connect it.
A recording speed of 30 fps in HD, quality, or imperfect, is perfectly acceptable for this type of camera.
Nextbase 312GW is without a doubt the best option if you don't have a very high budget.
Viofo A129 Duo
This set of cameras at the front and rear of the dashboard is decorated and focuses on something important: record a good video.
This means it's cheaper than most so-called dual-channel dashboard cameras, but be careful because some packages don't include GPS mount and polarizing filter.
It is necessary for both of you to be able to test where the video is being recorded and to remove the blurry display of the video.
The front camera is well built if you're looking for something hidden behind a rear view mirror, but the rear camera, though small, has a very dense cable that can be hard to hide.
Vio A119 v3
Disorders You seem to understand what most people want to see on a car camera: good recording quality, and recording options when your car is parked.
There are no extra features like a route outlet, speed camera: or GPS is optional, so you can pay a little extra if you don't want to. This keeps the price low and at the same time good quality.
Nextbase 422GW
The lowest price model for the new range Next series 2 For Alexa and Emergency Response, the 422GW also supports a range of rear cameras, records at 1440p and costs the same as the previous 412GW.
If you don't need all the new features, you can save money by turning on 322GW, but as of now, the old 312GW is much cheaper.
Nextbase 522GW
The 522GW Camera It doesn't add much to the already capable 422GW: especially the built-in polarizer. However, it improves image quality by reducing light.
Another key difference is the larger touch screen, but ultimately the 422GW is suitable for most people.
Nextbase 412GW
Do not be confused with the first model described, Nextbase 312GW, as this model, 412GW, is somewhat expensive and has a video quality of 2560×1440 pixels, that is, Quad HD. In addition, you can also record in Full HD (1920×1082) at 60 fps.
It combined GPS and Wi-Fi, similar to the original model, and the same magnetic mountain. However, this model comes with two different frames: one adhesive, and the other.
Video quality is better during the day, sharper than the 312GW model, however, the slight difference between the two models when recording at night.
Garmin Dash Cam 55 Plus
The Garmin board camera is well designed and easy to use. It's easy to install, but it will use your 12V car plug so you can't connect your phone or satellite navigator.
Unlike its other competitors, the 55 Plus has a security camera monitoring system that can alert you to black spots in accidents and hopefully, prevent you from being charged a speed penalty.
Video quality is good, but with high resolution you don't have the option of 60 frames per second or HDR: those are limited to low resolutions.
It comes with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi, though the system isn't as useful as others: it doesn't allow to change any settings on the dashboard camera. Still, it's not a bad device, especially when you consider the price.
Think F200
The F200 camera is a shorter new version of the F800 model, though the original price is somewhat misleading. If you want a rear camera with it, the package will cost something more expensive, and if you want to install a GPS it will be worth it and a plus.
If you select a GPS module, you can download and install a new one firmware which includes a database of speed cameras, and you will receive a sound warning as you approach it. This is not recorded, so it's unclear how to get alerts.
The bad news is that image quality is mediocre. Although the F200 records are at 1080p, the quality is very low and details are missing. This makes it difficult to separate the license plates even during the day. And the 720p rear camera looks really bad, so it only shows what happened to the event.
If you can afford more, you will get better quality F800 Pro (albeit less expensive).
Next 112
Nextbase 112 is a replacement model for dash cam 102. This camera is less than € 50 and has a powerful housing thanks you can set and unpack it quickly and easily.
This is all dash cam from a list that is 1280×720 pixels, so the recorded images will be worse. However, its 120-degree lenses make it easy to read the license plates as they grow physically, which will allow you to see larger numbers.
It will be very difficult for you to be able to see a certain number of nightly subscriptions, because the quality of the recording during the day is greatly reduced.
The camera does not have Wi-Fi or GPS, yet Nextbase 112 is nice, compact and easy to use. If you can afford it, we recommend that you use more and buy at least 1080p camera, but if you don't have a budget for it, Nextbase 112 is your camera.
