The bad part of trying to set up your own hackintosh is that not everything is completely compatible with Apple's app. And those of Copertino, unlike Microsoft with Windows, do not use universal drivers but are designed solely for the parts of the computer that they consider to be efficient. For this reason it is not suitable for any part, and you should carefully choose Hardware to install the hackintosh.
The elements of installing a cheap hackintosh
We'll see which parts fit perfectly, in this case with MacOS Catalina (10.15.1), and choose the cheapest parts to try to save as much money as possible.
Intel Core i3-8100 + heatsink stock
This processor is the eighth generation, built with a 14 nm lithographic process from Intel. It has four processors and four processors (no HyperThreading) at 3.6 GHz, and the important fact is that it features Intel HD 630 integrated graphics that will allow us to have this cheap hakinosh hash with 4K track even without any problems.
Gigabyte B365M DS3H
The motherboard selection of the hackintosh is probably the most complicated, since it is the most important thing about compatibility. This particular motherboard works well on MacOS Catalina, including its integrated network card and sound card. There are less expensive options but they offer compatibility issues, so it's best to invest in a board that we know will not give us problems.
2 × 4 GB G. Capacity Ripjaws V DDR4 2400 Mhz
In the case of RAM we prefer this G model. Skill given its minimum value. At 8 GB we have more than enough (remember we want a cheaper Hackintosh), and have selected two 4 GB modules to take advantage of the bandwidth that will provide us with dual-channel work.
Samsung 860 EVO 500 GB
We can put a hard disk disk into low capacity, but even though we want to install a cheap computer we don't want to have a toaster, so we prefer this 500 GB SSD that will deliver the most performance, and speed up everything we do.
In the Anima + 500W dialog box
Okay, here we see that we are throwing very cheaply even if it is not recommended. This is an example of "usable", but would definitely recommend, at least, a much more reliable electricity supply even if you spend more money. Anyway, if what we really want to install is a decent hackintosh but as cheap as possible, here we have this option. The box is "enough" and the 500W source will provide us with everything we need.
Summary: parts of cheap hintintosh
The compound | First name | Price |
---|---|---|
Processor | Intel Core i3-8100 | € 118.90 |
Heatsink | Intel stock | € 0 (comes with processor) |
Motherboard | Gigabyte B365M-DS3H | € 72.99 |
RAM memory | G. Capacity Ripjaws V 2×4 GB DDR4 2400 MHz | € 39.99 |
Storage | Samsung 860 EVO 500 GB | € 78,00 |
Box | Tacens Anima AC4500 | € 26.99 |
Power supply | OEM values | € 0 (comes with box) |
Total | € 336.87 |
As you can see, under 350 euros we can place a Hackintosh that will deliver great performance, and at a price that comes out actually cheaper than when we buy an Apple computer. Keep in mind that it will not be a miracle or in terms of performance, and be especially careful with that kind of power supply and Intel Stock Heatsink, but in fact for 400 euros in total you can upgrade both items and add a plus of quality to the team.
