The Great British Bake Off is one of the biggest shows of the autumn season, with plenty of Hollywood handshakes and wholesome goodness – and Channel 4 has started teasing the upcoming series.
Here’s everything you need to know, including when to tune in, who the hosts are, how to watch from the US and abroad, and how to apply to be a part of the main series yourself.
When is Bake Off coming back?
The Great British Bake Off series 15 doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but we can estimate when it will return based on last year’s season.
In 2023, GBBO premiered on the last Tuesday in September. In previous years, the series aired before this date, but if the 2024 edition had aired earlier, we believe the c ontestants would have already been announced.
Therefore, we estimate that The Great British Bake Off 2024 will return on Tuesday 24 September 2024 at 20:00 BST.
In the United States, The Great British Bake Off usually airs on Netflix on Fridays. If our above estimate is correct, then The Great British Baking Show will be available to stream on Friday, September 27, 2024 in America.

Is there a trailer for The Great British Bake Off 2024?

Where to watch Bake Off outside the UK
As usual, Bake Off will be available via regular UK TV (or whatever your TV is streaming on), broadcast on Channel 4.
If you want to watch the series from outside the UK (for example in the US, where you may know it as The Great British Baking Show), there are a number of ways to watch it.
Watch The Great British Baking Show on Netflix
Netflix US owns the rights to The Great British Baking Show and typically releases the latest episodes three days after their UK release.
So you can follow all the activity of the tent on Friday, provided you have a Netflix account. Subscriptions for this start at $6.99 per month.
Watch The Great British Bake Off on Channel 4 with a VPN
If you’re worried about spoilers and want to watch the new series as soon as it airs, there’s another way: use a VPN (virtual private network) to make your device appear local if you want to watch with the UK on the Channel 4 website.
There are plenty of VPNs out there, but we recommend NordVPN and Surfshark, both of which are reliable, fast, and fairly affordable. If you’re interested in checking out more options, check out our list of the best VPNs for streaming video.
Once you have downloaded and installed your VPN on your device, here are the steps to follow:
- Connect to a UK server on the VPN of your choice
- Create an account (it’s free, but requires your email)
The Channel 4 website asks you to disable all ad blockers, including your VPN’s optional ad blockers, so make sure you do this before trying to watch. If you still can’t connect, try a different server within your VPN until you find one that works for you.
Please note that this is against Channel 4’s terms of service, so proceed at your own risk.
