Three seasons of The Legend of Vox Machina brought together wizards, elves, gnomes, vampires, sphinxes and dragons, along with raunchy dialogue, dirty humor and amazing songs. Everything indicates that the fourth season of the series, now officially announced by Amazon, will feature even more unusual creatures and memorable moments.
In 2022, the first opus of The Legend of Vox Machina was launched on Prime Video, meeting with enormous success. Critical Role, the web series from which it originated and which was created by voice actor friends, had a devoted fan base. However, the Amazon series needed to break through to a wider audience. And that’s what happened – the crazy animated series about a group of Dungeons & Dragons characters generated a lot of buzz.
But what can fans expect in season 4? We’ve rounded up the most important information about the new installment of the Amazon show.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4 Release Date
Amazon has given the green light to a fourth season of the series, but has yet to announce when it might premiere.
Season 2 arrived just a year after Season 1 premiered. However, fans had to wait almost two years for Season 3. The SAG-AFTRA strike caused the delay, so Season 4 might appear sooner , perhaps as early as fall 2025.

Plot of The Legend of Vox Machina season 4
In Season 3, Vox Machina was finally able to defeat the Chroma Conclave. After killing Thordak, the group set off in search of the cunning Raishan, who, it turns out, had been plotting all along. However, during the fight in the ziggurat, the team killed the dragoness, who took Thordak’s corpse.
Additionally, in the season finale, Vax traveled to the realm of the demon Orthax to free Percy’s soul – thus, the gunslinger was brought back to life.
After the destruction of the Chroma Conclave, the members of Vox Machina went their separate ways. Scanlan decided to go on a trip with his daughter, Kaylie. Percy and Vex settled in Whitestone for a while while Vax decided to accompany Keyleth on her journey to Aramenté. Pike, meanwhile, stayed with her best friend, Grog, even though their plans were not made clear.
Critical Role isn’t revealing its plans for season 4 just yet, but we can guess a few things.

The creators included a huge cliffhanger in the season 3 finale. In a scene set in a secret chamber, a group of blindfolded and bleeding people summoned a mysterious being. The strange entity did indeed materialize, and in a sudden flash of light, we could see its skull adorned with a tiara.
As Dungeons & Dragons fans may have easily guessed, the demonic entity is…. Vecna. The name will also sound familiar to fans of Stranger Things, a series heavily inspired by the cult game. In the world of Vox Machina, the entity known as The Whispered One – Critical Role does not own the copyright to the character’s official name.
Vecna, aka The Whispered One, was once a human king and necromancer who transformed into a powerful lich – an undead mage who hid his soul in a reliquary. This creature had already appeared at the end of the first season of Legend of Vox Machina – The Whispered One was then summoned by Delilah Briarwood. Apparently, in season 4, he and his followers will be the main enemies of the heroes.
However, he is not the only sinister being who will stand in the way of Vox Machina. It is likely that the gang will again encounter Zerxus Ilerez, the devil collector deeply interested in possessing Pike’s soul.

Another essential plot of the new season will surely be the agreement between Vax and the Matron of Ravens and the price that the half-elf will have to pay to recover Percy’s soul. In the season 3 finale, a mysterious dark mark was growing on Vax’s arm, which can’t be an auspicious sign.
Of course, season 4 won’t be all chases, fights and escapes. We’ll see how Keyleth’s Aramenté journey plays out. We can also count on the continued relationships between Keyleth and Vax, Percy and Vex, and Scanlan and his daughter Kaylie and (eventually) Pike.

Will there be a season 5 of The Legend of Vox Machina?
So far, Amazon has not revealed whether the mercenary group will return for season 5. For more information on this, we have to wait until at least the first episodes of season 4 premiere – their viewership will determine the future fate of the series. .
However, fans shouldn’t worry: everything indicates that you won’t have to leave Exandria too soon. Another animated series based on the Critical Role campaigns is currently in the works on Amazon. The mighty Nein will tell the story of a group of criminals – the human wizard Caleb Widogast, the goblin rogue Nott the Brave, the human monk Beau Lionett, the tiefling cleric Jester Lavorre, the tiefling blood Molly Tealeaf, the barbarian Yasha Nydoorin and the half warlock -orca Fjord.
According to the creators, The Mighty Nein will be a completely different story from The Legend of Vox Machina and will be a real surprise for fans.
