The GeForce RTX 30 series has come as a surprise in many respects, with the launch of its flagship and ending with an amazing (low) price of the RTX 3070, graphics that are now highly valued by users. Around 3090 there were a lot of comments and arguments (and a good number of memes) around it size, because it is a graph of a larger size and that will prevent many users from installing it on their computers because of it.
In fact, if you look at the file models Model Founders that NVIDIA has already taught, in each step the drawings have seen its size gradually reduced, the RTX 3070 is already the standard size for which graphics cards like to be. It looks like NVIDIA will continue with this trend, and apparently the next RTX 3060 will be much smaller, skipping another step in terms of format.
IGeForce RTX 3060, a mini ITX format?
This is suggested by recent leaks in this regard, arising from the company’s internal presentation. They do not specify or define its size as you see below, and actually only confirm its RT cores, Ampere architecture and its GDDR6X graphics capacity with 6 GB of capacity, but the image clearly shows its ITX format with a few 16-inch length .
Of course, this will be the design of the NVIDIA reference model, but given its short PCB length, which is not enough for the PCI-Express socket to connect to the motherboard, and which manufacturers will use it to create their own custom models from it, we will probably see more models of ITX from this chart, as long as this leak is successful.
Performance, implementation and price
Remember that what we are experiencing right now is just a leak and therefore we cannot take anything lightly, even though it is true that the details are very logical.
According to the leak, the heatsink installed by NVIDIA on the RTX 3060 one fan, which suggests that the graph will have TDP and well-used consumption that will be slightly hot. We can assume that in terms of performance it will be better than the current RTX 2060, and in fact it is very possible considering the “big sisters” that it will surpass the current RTX 2070.
In terms of launch, NVIDIA has so far not provided a single indication, although it is true that it is very reasonable and expected a surprising launch every month, which means we can see this graph being launched in October. At the source they predicted that its price would be between 250 and 300 euros, something that is also very sensible and cheap, because let us remember that the price of the RTX 2060 is higher than that.
