Less than 10 days from this announcement, with the leak that we published yesterday with all the specifications of this model, all that remains is to know the price.
A few weeks ago, several American retailers had already listed this processor. Making the dollar-euro exchange and adding taxes, everything seemed to indicate that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D would have a price of 599 dollars in Europe, 50 dollars more than the starting price of the Ryzen 7800X3D that it replaces.
Ryzen 7 9800X3D price
It was only a matter of time before this processor appeared at a European retailer and, once again, it was the French PR21 site, although it is no longer available now. The price excluding taxes of the Ryzen 7 9800 X3D is 463.56 dollars.
If we add the corresponding VAT, which in Europe is 21%, if this price is the official price, the new king of gaming will arrive on the market for 560.90 dollarsonly 11 dollars more than its predecessor.
The French site PR21 is not the only one to already list this processor. Lithuanian retailer Inida also offers the Ryzen 7 9800X3D for 557.31 dollars, VAT included which is the same as in Europe (21%).
The price difference between the PR21 site and Inida is only 3 dollars, so, if these prices are confirmed, we can say with certainty that the launch price of the new gaming king for 2024 and 2025 will be around 560 dollars taxes included in Europe.
Even if it is increasingly difficult to find the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, on the sites where it is referenced, it is available for 470 dollars at PcComponentes, when its launch price was 549 dollars. At the time of publishing this article, Amazon does not have any units of this processor.
AMD X3D processors
With the launch of Ryzen 7 5700X3D At the start of this year, it was only a matter of time before Ryzen 7 5800X3D would disappear from the market. This is precisely what has happened in recent weeks, since it is practically impossible to find it in any online store or in physical stores.
Currently, AMD’s 3D V-Cache processor lineup consists of the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, Ryzen 7 7800X3D and will be joined next week by the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
However, it is particularly striking that Amazon does not have the 7800X3D, although this is probably due to a stock problem, since in the rest of Europe there seem to be no problems.
It makes no sense that with the launch of the 9800X3D, AMD eliminates it from the market, leaving the 5700X3D as the entry model. In fact, the current price of the 7800X3D will likely be reduced further in the coming weeks.
As for whether it is worth replacing the Ryzen 7 7800X3D with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, given that, according to AMD, the difference in performance in games will be 8%, it is advisable to wait for the next generation. Both use the motherboard’s AM5 socket.
