The bets, the uncertainty and of course the rumors are over. An official slide from Intel reveals in detail what to expect from Alder Lake, its features, attached data and pricing, especially for the KF versions that will finally see the light of day.
Official prices for Intel Alder Lake processors
Let’s start at the bottom, and that’s the i5-12600K with 10 cores (6 will be P-Cores and 4 will be E-Cores) and 16 threads will have the particularity of including 20 MB of L3 and 9.5 MB of L2 for a maximum frequency of 4.9 GHz in its cores high performance and up to 3.6 GHz in efficiency. The base frequencies will remain at 3.7 GHz and 2.8 GHz respectively.
As for maximum consumption, it will be 150 watts in PL2 and its price is $ 264 as MSRP, an increase of $ 27 compared to the previous generation. Its KF version drops to $ 264 and what’s more, neither spec supports TBM 3.0.
We are raising the range to i7-12700K and i7-12700KF, where we will find 12 cores in total in an 8P + 4E configuration to give together 20 threads, 25 MB of L3 and 12 MB of L2. Here there is support for TBM 3.0, where both will reach 5 GHz, while the P-Core frequency in Turbo will rise in unison to 4.9 GHz for the 3.8 GHz of E-Cores.
The base frequencies remain respectively at 3.6 GHz and 2.7 GHz, while the consumptions have 125 watts in its base and 190 watts in its Turbo mode. Prices? $ 409 and $ 384 respectively between K and KF versions.
Finally we have the i9-12900K and i9-12900KF, where both have 16 cores in 8P + 8E configuration to give 24 threads of execution, 30MB L3 and 14MB L2. The frequencies will be 5.2 GHz with TBM 3.0, 5.1 GHz in Turbo for all P cores and 3.9 GHz for E with a base frequency of 3.2 GHz and 2.4 GHz respectively.
On the price side, the K version amounts to 589 dollars for the 564 dollars of the KF.
Common processor specifications
As is often the case with all Intel processors, they have certain common denominators, namely:
- Intel iGPU UHD 770 (K versions only)
- 20 PCIe 5.0 lanes
- DDR5-4800 or DDR4-3200
- Dual channel
- Up to 128 GB RAM in DDR5 and DDR4
Nothing really surprising here, since if we have not previously commented on each point, little was missing. The UHD 770 is part of the 11th generation of Intel iGPUs and will have 32 US, 256 shaders and it will be manufactured in the same 10nm as the processors (now called Intel 7).
Its frequency will be 1.45 GHz and will reach the 742 GFLOPS in FP32. Finally, the official presentation will be in a few hours, while its release is speculated with a very close date, November 4.
