The neo-noir series has appealed to fans of Japanese culture as well as fans of gangster stories. The first season was a smash hit, and its finale was filled to the brim with cliffhangers – all indications were that Tokyo Vice would be renewed for another season.

The second part of the series in the United States will land on Max Thursday February 8, 2024

Tokyo Vice Season 2 Plot
The first seas on introduced Jake to the Tokyo crime scene, dominated by the brutal Yakuza. In the process, the young reporter met the internally conflicted dirty cop Miyamoto, Sato, the intelligent hostess Samantha, and most importantly, the experienced detective Hiroto Katagiri.
The cop took the young reporter under his wing, allowing Jake to uncover the complex world of Japanese gangs and their connections to law enforcement, nightclubs, and even ordinary citizens.

Loosely based on American journalist Jake Adelstein’s account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, the second season of the series, filmed on location in Tokyo, takes us deeper into the city’s criminal underworld as Adelstein (Ansel Elgort) surrenders realizes that his life, and the lives of those close to him, are in terrible danger.
