When will Venom: The Last Dance be released on VOD?
The first Venom movie was released on VOD after over two months, as was Sony’s 2023 smash hit, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage appeared on digital a little earlier, about a month and twenty-two days after its cinematic release.
On the other hand, Madame Web, which underperformed at the box office, arrived on VOD just one month after its theatrical release. So if Venom: The Last Dance is a disappointment at the box office, it could land on digital In end of November 2024.
However, it is more likely that the film will be a success, and Sony will not be in a hurry to offer it on VOD. In this scenario, we expect the third installment of Eddie’s adventures to be available for rental or purchase. in the second half of December 2024.
Remember, these are just predictions: Sony has yet to announce when Venom 3 will be available for purchase and rental.
When will Venom: The Last Dance be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
The first Venom movie to appear on DVD and Blu-ray was available just a week after its VOD release. If Sony follows a similar path with Venom: The Last Dance, physical copies of the film will appear around Christmas 2024.
On the other hand, fans had to wait almost two months after its VOD release to obtain physical copies of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. If Sony follows a similar schedule for The Last Dance, the film will hit shelves in February 2025.
When could Venom: The Last Dance be released on streaming services?
According to the agreement between Sony and Netflix, the studio’s films are released on this streaming service at least 120 days after their theatrical release.
Madame Web arrived on Netflix on May 14, 2024, three months after its theatrical debut. It’s worth noting, however, that the film was a disappointment at the box office, which may have weighed on the decision to quickly release it to streaming. The much more successful Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was released on Netflix four months after its theatrical debut.
Considering that Venom: The Last Dance on Netflix could appear on Netflix around January 25, 2025 at the earliest. However, its appearance could be further away, depending on the film’s performance at the box office.
An agreement between Sony and Disney signed in 2021 provides that after spending time on Netflix, the studio’s films will premiere on Disney+ and Hulu. Venom: The Last Dance will therefore undoubtedly appear on Mickey Mouse streaming services – however, it has not yet been announced when this might happen.
