There are a lot of games that we could see at Gamescom, and many of them come with a lot of new features, but there are also some that seek to offer us a renewed experience of those titles that have managed to captivate a large number of users in the past. Since Valve does not know how to do third parties and its games are among the most important on PC, NVIDIA’s plan to launch titles like Half-life 2 RTX This is what the Steam company will bring us as if it were a completely new version.
One of the great projects that we have been able to see some time ago is RTX Remix, presented by NVIDIA, it is based on a series of applications that directly allow users to easily improve a game both graphically and mechanically, practically completely remastering a title. And in this case, one of the games that has received the most attention is Half-life
A brand new game, here is Half-Life 2 RTX
A week ago we saw the news brought by NVIDIA, and during Gamescom they presented various news that mainly concern the software solutions they have, mainly related to the technologies applied to the video games they have. As we said, one of these technologies or projects is RTX Remix, and one of the great presentations we saw was that of Half-Life 2 RTXa completely renewed game that offers users the opportunity to relive the history of this legendary title with graphics, animations, effects and other technical aspects adapted to the current era.
One of the most impressive things we can see in this remaster is how the lighting works, and this is one of the main aspects that we can imagine taking into account that the main option that RTX Remix has is the possibility of adding Ray Tracing to each match.
As we can see in the video, the game looks completely different, and within its own graphic quality we can define several extremely important points in these cases:
- Lightning– One of the key aspects, as we mentioned before, completely changes the look of the game by offering the ability to render shadows and lights in an extremely realistic way.
- Textures: Unlike the original Half-Life, the textures change completely, featuring models that have almost eight times more pixels than the original, increasing the quality they can display.
- Physical: This is clearly something that defines Valve games, and its graphics engine was created to represent physics in a very different way from others, they are also improved to avoid problems.
- Animations: It’s not too hard to see how some animations change when compared to the original game, and they’re more true to life.
- Effects: one of the aspects that most defines a current game is the quality of the effects to make it as realistic as possible, we have for example the representation of the smoke of the weapons, as well as the impact effects of the bullet and similar as an example to see the great change that there is.
