The fact that the industry relies heavily on access to specific senses does not mean that this is because they are better (or yes). To decide, we must first know the the difference of these two types of senses, so that we can argue Which of these is better gaming mice (we're talking specifically about gaming and not "normal" mice, which is how we still get more lasers).
The difference between optical and laser sensors

Why manufacturers have appointed surgeons
One would think it was designed pricing, but right now it's no different. True, in the past laser cutters were popular with all users, but this was due to the false impression that they were of a higher quality because they were more expensive.
And that's, of course, a few years ago, it was more expensive to operate a laser sensor than to see, but its cost of production has always been the same and although today lasers are still expensive, the difference is almost costly.
However, manufacturers' choices are related to this. We have already said that before lasers were more expensive than opics, and the feeling for gamers was that game mice with light sensors were low in performance. And as with all markets, in the end best-selling products and that most of the benefits that report to manufacturers are input range and Midrange, because since the product is the best in the high grade, few users tend to spend that money.
This reason enables manufacturers to focus their production on the best-selling, Optical rats, and focus their efforts on developing them and leaving the lasers. The result these days the market is covered with gaming sensors which have far higher qualities than any laser mouse, the only real disadvantage is that we have to use an opaque surface to apply it.
So, are gaming mice better than lasers?
Therefore, the answer is a yes, yes. As manufacturers have copied these performance mice in recent years and have ceased (almost) the advanced development of laser sensors, today optical mice are the best choice for gaming. Of course, if people haven't opted for lasers before because they are quite expensive, there are now gaming rats worth 200 euros, so this has become a point to consider.
However, as the market is, the trend is to keep going like this, and willing sensors are the path that manufacturers will follow, leaving lasers in the hiring process.
