No one doubts at this stage of life that we are at a time in the subscription market. Payments for monthly services that have to do with music, series, movies, TV shows and, of course, video games. Thus, these, given their popularity, have become the real alternative to the option of buying versions independently. And Ubisoft+ is precisely that.
Looking for an urgent exit
The fact is that Ubisoft hasn’t been a quiet company lately with regard to information. To the cancellations of several “unannounced” projects, we must add the debacle of the delay of Skull and bones or Ives Guillemot’s threat that development teams must put their batteries in front of the panorama that opens before them. It is therefore not surprising that the French are looking for windows to continue to make the old versions profitable.
Ubisoft+ is that answer that hit the market nearly three years ago and has strongly embraced Google’s new cloud gaming service, Stadia. This is where it took, in addition to the PC, its library of titles for consoles with the promise, not only to launch the novelties the same day they go on sale (far cry 6for example) but to do so with all the extras, DLCs and expansions that each title on the market had.
The problem is that Stadia failed, shut down its servers Last January and only with PC, Ubisoft+ did not allow him to continue looking for a way to earn more money. So what do you think will be the next step?
Accidental landing on Xbox
I have to say that With Stadia already fatally injured, Ubisoft decided to take the plunge to launch its service on PlayStation, which happened in May of last year so obviously only the Microsoft side was missing, where there are already packages as famous as Xbox Game Pass or EA Access, which is also part of the northern ecosystem -American.
Now an image posted by Windows Central has just appeared showing the possible logo that Ubisoft+ games would have within the Xbox store so that the user can identify each of them and know that this title is part of the package that the Frenchman pays. The same way it already happens with the Electronic Arts releases they have in the Xbox Game Pass plan.
For the moment we do not know more: if it will be integrated with Xbox Game Pass, if with a single payment we will have access to these Ubisoft games, if it will be marketed separately and even the extension of the catalog since, let us remember, the French also have an alternative in computing with many developments since their beginnings where they worked much more specifically on platforms like the PC (remember you the number of deliveries of strategy titles like The settlers oh Ann…).
For now, keep what Ubisoft+ has plenty of ballots to reach Xbox. We just need to know when, how and with what.
