WhatsApp users can soon expect a new design. The messaging app is getting a makeover, which should look “fresher” and clearer overall. Additionally, dark mode will be even darker – a “super dark mode,” so to speak.
More than 35 different colors were considered for the new and improved dark mode to achieve a particularly dark and easier on the eyes design. However, there are no images of the new look yet.
WhatsApp 2024: New look on Android and iOS
The new look of the WhatsApp interface on Android is another story. A new navigation bar has been added to the bottom of the screen to make searching easier. The new feature has already rolled out to iOS devices to provide a better overview of discussions and communities.
For iOS users, sending photos and videos has also changed with a new attachment layout. This is now displayed as an expandable bar in which all options for sending media, surveys and documents are more visible.
Additionally, all WhatsApp icons will be slightly different, slightly rounded and outlined. The default chat background is also getting a makeover.
There are also “new illustrations with additional animations to increase the fun”, so overall this is probably the biggest change to the look of the app since 2021.
Some users may have already received the new look of WhatsApp via an update. For everyone else, the design will likely be refreshed over the next few days.
