When does The Mandalorian season three start?

Last year, we explained that The Mandalorian season three was scheduled for release in early 2022. Shortly after, we received reports that it would arrive at the end of the year, in December.

However, the latest news tells us that The Mandalorian season 3 will be able to be seen in February 2023.

We will therefore have to wait a few more months to see the rest of this story.

Is there a trailer for the third season of The Mandalorian?

At the moment there is no official trailer for the third season of The Mandalorian. However, in order not to leave you empty-handed, you can always watch the season two trailer:

Who will star in The Mandalorian season three?

Disney hasn’t confirmed the cast members yet, but it’s expected that Peter Pascal return to the title role of Din Djarin (aka Mando). According to Digital Spy, Pascal’s stunt double Brandon Wayne made an Instagram post (now deleted) confirming that Pascal would be returning to the show. In this way, he wanted to deny the rumors that he had left The Mandalorian.

As for who will join him, we can expect to see feedback from Carl Meteos of Rocky, and of course the big villain of the series, Giancarlo Esposito from Breaking Bad.

We also hope that Katee Sackhoff return as Bo-Katan Kryze, the original wielder of the Deathsaber, as that was one of the storylines left open after the second season.

One of the actresses who won’t be returning is Gina Carano as Cara Dune. iO9 released the following statement from Lucasfilm confirming this information:

“Gina Carano is not currently an employee of Lucasfilm and there are no plans to be in the future. However, her social media posts disparaging people for their cultural and religious identity are abhorrent and unacceptable. .”

It comes after Carano shared an anti-Semitic story on his Instagram, in addition to spreading US election conspiracies, calling out the use of gender-neutral pronouns and supporting posts that go against the Black Lives Matter movement. .

Cara Dune was a major character in The Mandalorian and it had been established that she might play a major role in The New Republic Rangers. Now it remains to be seen whether his character will be phased out entirely or if someone else will be given a new role.

Rosario Dawson will star in her own spinoff series as Ahsoka Tano, but we might see her make another appearance as her series takes place in the same timeline as The Mandalorian. Also, we think Ahsoka will air after Mando Season 3, so her appearance to set up her spin-off series would make sense.

Temuera Morrison played a pivotal role as Boba Fett in season two. By the time the third season airs, its own series will already be over. However, we wouldn’t be surprised to see crossovers with both characters again, and perhaps an appearance from Ming-Na Wen as the sniper Fennec Shand.

Who will write and direct the third season?

behind the cameras, Jon Favreauwho is an expert in production and direction and who brought us Iron Man and The Jungle Book, is the showrunner and the main writer of the series, although he has the help of the veteran of Star Wars: Clone Wars TV Dave Filoni.

What to expect from season three

Spoilers for The Mandalorian’s second season below

The second season of The Mandalorian probably had the most shocking appearance we’ve ever seen on the show. The Jedi Master himself – a young Luke Skywalker – arrived aboard Moff Gideon’s light cruiser and destroyed all of the Dark Troopers with ease.

Once he felled his foes, he revealed that he had come to answer the call of Grogu (aka The Kid and/or Baby Yoda), and was there to train him in the ways of the Jedi. After a heartbreaking goodbye between Mando and Baby Yoda, Luke left with Grogu in tow.

The question is obvious: will we see Grogu again? We hope the cutest cast member returns, but not just yet. Most Jedi training will likely take place off-screen, due to the difficulty and expense of animating an aged version of Mark Hamill.

If Grogu returns, we’re hoping it’ll be in the middle of the season, perhaps to save Mando from a sticky situation and reveal what he’s learned from his time with Luke.

There is also the question of the war saber. Moff Gideon revealed that Mando was the rightful winner of the weapon after defeating him in battle. This dealt a blow to Bo-Katan, as he needs the sword to claim the throne of Mandalore.

To win the Darksaber, he would have to defeat Mando in battle, so hopefully that issue will be resolved in Season 3. As far as we know, Mando doesn’t need or want the lightsaber, but Grogu’s absence could she change her priorities?

Finally, we still have to face the Imperial forces. Gideon may have already been captured, but he’s not dead yet. The stragglers of the Empire are still alive in the galaxy, and this series seems to set up the creation of the First Order. The cloning and experiments with Grogu’s blood seem to hint at how Snoke was created, but it could be something else entirely.

Thanks to Ahsoka, we also know that Grand Admiral Thrawn is lurking somewhere in the galaxy. So if we see Rosario Dawson make another appearance, we’re sure Thrawn will be mentioned again.
