If we want to display in a large way the content that we have stored on our PC, such as movies or photos, or if we want to enjoy our favorite games on the television in our living room, the simplest method is to use the one of HDMI ports of the television connected to our equipment. However, this process requires that the two devices be close (no problem if we are talking about a laptop) and requires space to be able to place the device close to the TV.
Fortunately, there is a much simpler method provided you have a Smart TV at home, since we can use the wireless network in our home to send the signal without having to use cables, making the process only take a few seconds and there is no need to get up from the sofa at any time.
If we don’t have a smart TV, we can buy one Fire TV Stick from Amazon or Google TV, the first option being the most economical of all. We can also use both devices to send media content from our mobile device to the TV without having to use an app. To share a PC screen with a Smart TV, simply follow the steps we show you below.
Send PC screen to TV
The first requirement that we must meet to be able to send the image from our PC to the smart TV or with a Fire TV or Google TV that we have in the living room is that the equipment is managed by Windows 10 or Windows 11, since the two versions of Windows include the ability to send content wireless.
The second condition is that both devices are connected to the same network. It doesn’t matter if the TV is connected via Ethernet cable and the device via Wi-Fi or vice versa. The important thing here is that both are connected to the same router, either wirelessly or using a cable, otherwise Windows will not be able to find the device to send the signal to.
Next we access the Windows configuration options through the key combination Win + i and access Bluetooth and other devices, then tap Add. At this time the name of our TV will be displayed and we will just have to select it and follow the instructions displayed on the screen so that it is available on our PC.
Once we have linked our PC with Smart TV, all we need to do is send the signal directly wirelessly. The quickest and easiest method is to use the Project function which we can access using the keyboard shortcut Win + P and which will show us 4 options:
- PC screen only
- Duplicate
- Second screen only
Here you have to click on the option available just at the end and which can be identified with the name More display configuration options. When you click on this option, the name of our TV will be displayed and where we just have to select it for our PC to start projecting the image on the TV.
