According to Group Chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra, Sony Pictures Entertainment is currently developing ten more PlayStation titles for film and television. The news comes via an investor presentation Vinciquerra announced Thursday.
In the presentation, Vinciquerra emphasized the group’s desire to continue capitalizing on Sony’s existing intellectual property, not just in movies, but also in music and video games. The information follows a report showing that Netflix and Sony are currently in the process of creating an original series based on Horizon Zero Dawn.
The news comes as no surprise considering Sony’s catalog of PlayStation products is in the works to be adapted into film and television productions. There is a God of War Series likely coming to Amazon Prime Video, plus a Gran Turismo project in development. Sony has also announced this Spirit of Tsushima Film written by Chad Stahelski and a Bent metal Series currently in development. It’s also likely that the group will order a sequel to the blockbuster Unexploredsince it has sold so well and the director has spoken out hope for another movie.
So far, this is what we know most about the HBO adaptation based on The last of usin the Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (game of Thrones). The Last of Us TV series doesn’t have a trailer or release date yet, but it will likely arrive sometime in 2023.
