Spring is finally (at last) right around the corner with summer on your heels not long after that. On the other hand, after almost a year and some changes since the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, the time feels like a linear course of events and cycles and more like a loose suggestion: “Easter weekend? Sure, why not! “

April takes place Shrek 2 Streaming on Hulu in time for the first movie’s 20th anniversary, as well as a number of other awesome picks like 28 days later, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, the Warriors, and Red dawn.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Paul Newman and Robert Redford shine and smolder as the eponymous protagonists of George Roy Hill’s landmark 1969 Western Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Written by the inimitable William Goldman (All of the President’s men, The princess bride) follows the story of Butch and Sundance, who, in the midst of the dwindling years of the Old West and on the run after an attempted train robbery, try to escape to Bolivia while staying one step ahead of the law. The film, which was selected for safekeeping in the United States’ National Film Registry in 2003 and is regularly on the list of the greatest American films ever made, is an exciting and gripping adventure of mythical proportions. -TO

Sneakers is the feel-good crime comedy of the 90s. But the thing and the plot machinations are not really the catch here – sneakers is like a big ’90s hangout movie full of retro tech and a dash of cynical Cold War vibe. The joke is funny, the plans are in place, and in the end the Republican National Committee will be completely disappointed. the Warriors

Based on Sol Yurick’s 1976 novel of the same name, The Warriors is a gripping urban action thriller and a darkly bizarre take on the real-life gang violence that gripped New York City for much of the mid to late 1970s.
