But survived 72 hours Dead Rising Deluxe RemasterWillamette Parkview Mall is no easy task – it will force you to properly manage your time and weigh the pros and cons of rescuing and fighting people. To make your time a little easier, here are 16 essential tips for surviving in a mall full of psychopaths and zombies.

Time is always moving

No matter what you do in the game, time will always move. So you have to make sure that you don’t do anything completely pointless. Good time management, even for the core main quests, is essential. However, you can stop time when you pause the game or open the map.

You can fail Dead Risingis the main story and continues

You cannot pass the main story if you do not reach a certain area within the time limit. In this case, text will appear on the screen informing you that you can no longer play through the main story. But don’t worry, because if you want to continue playing, you definitely can – you’ll just be locked out of certain storylines.

You need to progress through the game to unlock more shortcuts

At the start of the game you will notice that certain areas of malls are off limits. You can only get to them through the huge park in the middle. However, as you continue to progress through the main story, more and more shortcuts open up to you, making it easier to move through the mall.

You can scream for help

If you’re looking for a survivor and can’t find them, you can call out their name! If they are close enough, they should respond, which will help you determine exactly where they are.

You can farm weapons

If you ever find a random weapon that you really like, remember where you found it because you can easily farm it. To do this, you will need to leave the area you are in and enter a loading screen. After you do that, return to the location you just left and return to where you found the weapon. It should be exactly where it was last time. You can do it as many times as you want, but for it to work you have to enter a loading screen.

You can create superfoods

If you visit an area with a kitchen, you’ll likely find something to eat nearby. Plus, you’ll probably see a blender somewhere nearby. The blender can be used to mix food. If you combine the right items together, you can unlock special abilities like acid spitting or create something that fully restores your health.

You can upgrade your camera

Admittedly, there aren’t many camera stores in the mall, but there are plenty to keep an eye on. These stores offer various upgrades that you can use with your camera. While these won’t give you the upper hand when fighting enemies, they will help you take better photos, which is always nice.

Pay attention to PP

Speaking of cameras, look out for the letters “PP”. They usually only appear when you look through your camera lens. However, taking a photo reveals areas that offer a lot of XP. So make sure you use your camera often because you never know when you will come across a PP area. (Snigger – Ed)

They can accidentally kill Dead RisingThe survivors

Be careful where you swing your ridiculous weapons whenever you’re trying to rescue survivors or return them to the safe room. If you don’t pay attention to their health, you may accidentally kill them and lose XP.

Survivors will point things out to you

When rescuing survivors in the mall, they will often point out areas to you. For example, if you are near a PP area, you will be informed about it and an icon will be marked for you on the map. Or if you’re walking near a tree, they might notice a gun in the bushes that you can use.

Psychological weapons appear again and again

Psychos often drop really useful weapons after killing them. However, don’t worry about these disappearing because they always appear exactly where you found them. So if you want to farm some of the strongest weapons in the game, you can easily do so after killing them.

Survivors can also be very annoying

Even though rescuing survivors is an important part of the game, that doesn’t mean they can’t be annoying. Often they are stuck in a corner or surrounded by zombies. To counteract this, make sure you give them a decent weapon so they can defend themselves. If you have a gun, give it to them because you don’t have to worry about them running out of ammo. In most cases, a single shot will knock a zombie back, giving you plenty of time to go back and help him. If you find that their health is poor, you can cure them by giving them food.

Don’t ignore Otis

Once you get past the game’s opening scene, Otis gives you a walkie-talkie and calls you often. If he does, don’t be rude and ignore his calls. Otis usually gives you hints on where to find psychopaths and helps you find survivors in the mall. It’s also the first time Capcom has given this man a voice.

The prisoners will always spawn

As soon as it first gets dark, you are greeted by three prisoners in a military van with a machine gun attached. How they got it is unclear. But it’s worth noting that these guys will constantly show up no matter what. If you happen to kill one, leave the park and come back, all three will be alive again.

Note that you can remove the machine gun from the car. It’s one of the strongest weapons in the game, but it’s never easy to get. Most of the time it is better to run away from the prisoners.

Save Greg Simpson

Greg Simpson is a survivor you can save from day one. To do this you have to kill the clown in the roller coaster. After you save him, Greg will show you a shortcut that will take you to the side of the mall where you can access the security room. This is important to know because if you want to avoid the prisoners, this is the best way to do it without risking your life or that of survivors.

Avoid the dust of the cult

Without giving too much of the plot away, at some point in the game you will come across a cult. They wear yellow raincoats and stay in packs. If you get close enough to one, they will throw dust your way. If you are caught in the explosion, you will fall unconscious. When you wake up you lose all your belongings and are wearing underwear. So unless you want to face a challenging fight, avoid the dust at all costs.

You are ready to take on the hordes. Don’t forget that you only have three days to get everything done. Make sure you hit the important story beats and you’re good to go.
