Once upon a time, the United States of America celebrated a holiday called “Thanksgiving.” But over time, as the culture changed and the country changed, it eventually evolved into the holiday we all know and love today. Exactly, thank you gaming! It's the day of the year when everyone in America – and around the world – comes together to celebrate unknown indie games.
How it became one yearly tradition To My cityWe're calling on indie developers to let us know about their upcoming or recently released games that have slipped under the radar so we can highlight them here on this major platform while gaming news takes a day off to show their faces to fill with turkey.
As always, the inclusion of these games here is not a comment on their quality as, unless otherwise noted, we have not played them. Instead, these are selected randomly* from the Hundreds of emails we received (over 400 in fact, to give you an idea of how many games there are) to highlight what extraordinary variety and opportunity there is in the wide world of independent gaming.
If you want to support these developers and their projects, there's a lot you can do. Add them to your wish list makes a real difference and helps developers make both algorithmic And financial attention, not to mention reminding you to buy it when it's out. It's also important to tell others! Ask your favorite YouTuber to watch it. Force your grandparents to play the demo. Engrave the game's URL on the nearest mountainside.
Okay, ready? And yes, this is a slideshow, so familiarize yourself with it. That's how I get away with writing these articles, so let's all just accept it. Even if you limit your browser to portrait orientation or read on your phone, the slides will be removed.
