Developer Ninja Theory showed up and showed off while The Game Awardsreleases a new trailer for the atmospheric and brutal action-adventure game Senua’s Saga: Hellblade IIand a shiver runs down my spine after watching this dark, gripping video.

Hellblade II– the sequel to the absolutely fantastic action-adventure game from 2017 Hellblade: Senua’s victim—brings our Pictish warrior Senua to Iceland. The latest trailer was revealed in 2023 The Game Awards, gives us a look at the fight and cinematics. It’s creepy, with menacing dialogue and a sound that’s as eerie as it is impressive.
Based on the trailer above, this sequel looks a little less depressing than its processor, but still just as unsettling. We see some fights between Senua and a few warriors, with the retracted camera and hand-to-hand combat giving the fight a real sense of danger and urgency that reminds me of my visceral reaction when playing the original Hellblade

After Game revealed at the Games Awards 2019Ninja theory then delivered a dramatic and unsettling gameplay trailer at the 2021 Game Awards This showcased some of the characters, fights and locations we will experience before Announcing the 2024 release window at the Xbox Games Showcase in 2023. This new trailer doesn’t specify a release date, it just reiterates that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will launch next year on Game Pass, PC via Steam and Xbox Series X/S.
