Thirsty admirers is a cross between Scott Pilgrims Evil ex fights, stylish arcade skateboarding and cooking segments, all presented through a South Asian cultural lens. In the RPG from Outerloop Games, Jala returns to an old town with old flames and shapes their reconciliation through turn-based combat that takes simple conversations with each other to ridiculous levels. There’s even a phase where Jala enters a dream world where her ex-boyfriends appear as powerful, warped versions of her own self-concept. Think individual 5 but with fewer criminals. Jala explores her old town on a skateboard (more jet set radio as Tony Hawk)and when she’s at home with her family, she cooks with her mother in an over-the-top, campy way. Thirsty admirers portrays all of its storylines this way, but at its core is a grounded humanity that will be exciting to watch when the game launches on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch.
