OK, so that’s a pretty far-fetched suggestion at first glance, but bear with us. what are you doing in a Pokemon Game? Do you collect animal-like creatures, fight others, and then put your captured beasts to work for you in different ways? To the right? To the right? Well, that’s the premise of cult of the Lamb!
But, you know, so very dark.
Not suitable for children, this cult simulation is played in two different halves, a bit like moonlighting
but with sacrifices. Half the time you run your home base, building places for your acolytes to live, worship, and work for you. The other half, you embark on rogue-lite missions to fight your way through a series of real-time battles and gather new followers, with the overriding goal of assassinating ancient gods.
OK, so not enormously
like
Pokemon, but it’s certainly a cathartic experience after spending a little too long in the saccharine world of Nintendo’s creations. If you’ve always wanted to instill fear into the hearts of your Pokédex by randomly choosing one of them to sacrifice in your honor, then this is the game for you.
