At the start of the new gameplay trailer, Ganon sets up his army using a mechanic familiar to anyone who has played OTW: The Blood Moon. In this game, Blood Moons caused enemies Link had killed to regenerate, and they seem to have a similar effect here, although things seem a lot more intense this time. Flaming projectiles rain down, massive explosions occur, the earth trembles as a castle appears to rise from the underground. Maybe this is just for effect during cutscenes. On the other hand, Nintendo needs to up the ante to make things seem more dramatic in the sequel, so brace yourself for at least some of those things actually happening in-game.
