Anyone who knows Crusader Kings II will be familiar AGOTa sprawling mod that transforms the world of medieval Europe into George RR Martin’s Westeros A Song of Ice and Fire. So it’s good and also scary (in terms of my free time) Message that the mod is ready to make the leap to the newer Crusader Kings III.
It’s a mod so good I wrote about it twice, initially as a kind of retrospectivethen again in an interview with one of the responsible modderswho later worked at Paradox, the developers of Crusader Kings. I can’t stress how perfect It is; the political and sexual drama of the series fits seamlessly Crusader Kings Systems, which makes it feel more like an officially licensed release than fan work.
As great as the mod is Crusader Kings II has gotten a bit old, so it’s time to move on Crusader Kings IIIit’s almost the same experience, only prettier and more streamlined. The team recently announced a roadmap for the mod’s release – this is actually its third since it was released for the original Crusader Kings as well as-in this Reddit post.
I couldn’t be more excited. The team absolutely came together stunning Map for the mod that recreates Westeros in minute detail, including everything from the deserts of Dorne to an accurate representation of the Wall. You can benefit from it CKIII Rules to do…anything you want to do in a game of Thrones Game like getting involved in huge wars, messing around with religion, joining the Night’s Watch and eradication of political intrigue.
First off, the game will begin – and represent story events – during Robert’s Rebellion, a decision made in part to avoid having to worry about implementing dragons and White Walkers so early in development. However, this stuff could be in the cards for later, as well as more eras of Westerosi history, along with expanding the map to include Essos as well.
The mod will not have a formal v1.0 release date or anything; It will launch in beta and the team can just keep working from there. And the good news is that it’s launching in beta later this week – April 14th – so it won’t be long before we can try it out for ourselves.
