Already in 2009 as part of an advertising stunt for …Great family games, Editor THQ commissioned the creation of a gold Nintendo Wii and had it delivered to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The queen probably never received the console –as described in this excellent episode of People Make Games– but it eventually found its way into the hands of collector Donny Fillerup, one of the people behind the website consolevariations.com
Donny, Who’s “Going on with Life” now and looking for a new place to buy, puts parts of his collection for sale, and the headline is of course that infamous 24-carat gold-coated Wii, which he listed on eBay for $ 300,000.
However, you have to pay for your own shipping.
G / O Media can receive a commission
If you feel like spending apartment money on a new kind of Nintendo console, the auction is just the thing Here.
