According to previously promising to show Alan Wake 2 Today this summer, Remedy Entertainment said people were waiting a little longer for more information on the sequel to the Beloved (and recently remastered) thriller from 2010.
“Everything’s going really well,” said Sam Lake, creative director of Remedy video message
Lake, who wrote the original Alan Wake and leads Alan Wake 2, adding that creating a “proper, polished” demo or trailer would have taken several months of game development. As work on the sequel reportedly gained momentum, Remedy was concerned about the loss of momentum that would accompany the shift from the game itself to marketing.
“We want to make sure we create the best possible experience, the best, first survival horror game for Remedy,” Lake continued. “We don’t want to steer the team away from that focus to work on a demo now.”

Alan Wake 2 was officially unveiled at last year’s Keighley Awards with an impressive result Teasers and the news that the sequel would move entirely into survival horror territory.

In the 12 years since the release of the first game, Remedy merged Alan Wake with his 2019 hit steering to create what the studio is now calling the Remedy Connected Universe. The connection between the two series was further explored in the second steering Extension, SHY.
“For over 10 years we have had a crazy dream” Lake wrote at the time. “The idea that the stories told in some of our games are connected, a connected world full of stories and events with common characters and lore. Slowly and patiently, behind the scenes, we planned and planned to make this a reality.”
Though Remedy missed out on its big summer debut, Remedy says Alan Wake 2 is still planned for a start in 2023.
