Dead Rising has always played second fiddle to Capcom’s far more popular and successful resident Evil Franchise. But while Dead Rising maybe not as famous or popular as Resident Evil, Its quirky characters, offbeat tone, endless zombie hordes, and tension-building ticking clock gave it a unique feel and helped it build its own fan base.

It all started with Dead Rising in 2006 that was unlike any other zombie game released before that time. It let people live out the fantasy created in George Romero’s iconic Dawn of the dead. Eventually, you could explore a zombie-infested mall and test your different strategies. Over time, the franchise evolved and changed, both for better and for worse. After DeadRising 4 in 2016, the Series rested for a while.

But there is good news: the franchise is returning later this year, but not with a new sequel. Instead, in September, almost 20 years after the first game was released, Capcom will release a remake of Dead RisingSo before people jump on this new version of an Xbox 360 zombie classic, let’s take a closer look at the entire franchise and find out which games are good, so-so, and bad.
