Disease carried by gloom is one of many side quests that you can find The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
It seems Link isn’t the only one afflicted by Gloom – a plague of reddish-purple filth that is draining the life force of people across Hyrule – as this quest requires you to cure someone of Gloom who found in Kakariko Village in Enchanted Village is Armor Shop.
Here’s how to complete the quest, how to make Sunny Veggie Porridge, and where to get each ingredient, including Wild Green.
How to start the Gloom-borne Illness quest.
First, head closed Kakariko Village in southeast Hyrule. In case you haven’t been there, the coordinates are 1845, -0969, 0115.
Once in the village, go to the armor shop and talk to Claree (the woman behind the counter).
She will tell you that her grandmother has to charge exorbitant prices for her equipment because of her illness. Sounds like pandemic profiteering and we don’t stand for that. But we want her armor so we can and will help her.
Claree tells you to find her sister Lasli – she’s just up the hill from the armory, sitting outside her grandmother’s house muttering to herself about porridge.
Ingredients for Sunny Veggie Porridge
Porridge, it seems, is the only thing her grandmother will eat. For preparing Sunny Veggie Porridge Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomyou need:
- Hylian Rice
- Fresh milk
- “Wild Green” (Sun Delion)
Although “wild vegetables” is a vague category, you specifically need the sun delion and its cloud-resistant properties to make the mash work.
Let’s go through how to get them one by one.
Hylian Rice Locations
Hylian Rice can be found between Kakariko Village and Hateno Village, but instead of searching for it in the wild, You can buy them at the Hateno Village General Store (3356, -2517, 0018).
We have to go there anyway so just make it easy and spend the 12 rupees.
locations for fresh milk
Like the Hylian rice You can buy fresh milk at the Hateno Village General Store. It’s another 12 rupees, but you don’t plan on milking a cow yourself, do you?
How to get “wild green”.
The “wild greens” are indeed solar delion. Chances are you’ve got a few Sundelions with you, but if you’re missing any, you can find them in Hyrule Field and Eldin Canyon, or most commonly on the Sky Islands.
Rewards for the Darkness-Borne Disease quest.
Once you have all of the above, combine them into the Sunny Veggie Porridge.
Now go back to Lasli and give her the porridge. After a single bite, her grandmother is suspiciously much better – something Claree notes.
Lasli will give you a bowl of Energizing Veggie Porridge for your trouble, while Claree has the grace to undo her price increase and give you her armor – the Steath armor set and the Radiant set – at a still pricey but far cheaper price tag 1800 for sale or a total of 2400 rupees.
Well done for completing the quest! If you haven’t already, while you’re in Kakariko Village, it’s worth completing the Makasura Shrine to the south.
