Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a lot of fun, small details

A few days ago, I created a remainder of the cloud Crossing the Animals: New Horizons buried on the river bank. As I held the fuse to the ground, I saw a strange butterfly coming out from the other side. I pulled out my trim pole and fired it. Once I got it out, I went back across the river to fill the hole. Unbeknownst to me, I was rolling right into the hole I had dug – my character went straight inside. After a brief struggle – and a lovely one -, he just pulled that out of it and went his way.

Of course, this is reasonable. If you dig a hole, you'll fall into it. And yet, I was surprised that Nintendo had made this situation on New Horizons. Then I realized that there were a lot of little moments in the game, things that are fun for me at the moment but I may have overlooked otherwise. Since I started to notice these little moments, I've spent more time on New Horizons the earth.

And I'm not alone. I asked the Polygon staff to share theirs small details you like inside New Horizons. They are all equally entertaining. Share your favorites in the comments!

The feet swim

I noticed early on that there are different types of hiking trails depending on your destination Animal Crossing: New Horizons. You can feel the cracking of grass under the blankets while walking (or running!) In the green spaces of the game. The footprints are further developed in the sand, and there are variations to wrap up the slums on bridges and trains in the downtown area. But my favorite little detail is that all of these sounds change and when you walk around in shoes. I love that you hear the call of bare feet in different places. – Nicole Carpenter, deputy editor of news

Lil & # 39; paws

LIL'S LAWS & # 39; TAKE NOTICE OF SIGNALS OF MEETINGS. One morning I came out of my house to find Axel, Lucky, and Leopold sitting at the stalls in the plaza, drinking tea. Leopold has little pink pills under his feet! In the first broadcast of the game, people lost their minds about Tom Nook with the same paw packs. It is really exciting to see the small, small packs offered in this game. Also, the fact that my fellow citizens sometimes drink tea in a plaza in small stalls! Awesome job, Nintendo. – Simone de Rochefort, executive video producer

Storms

Animal Crossing: A New Horizons rain storm with a character carrying an umbrella

While all the weather goes in New Horizons it's lovely, the storms are so good. I love watching the lightning fall across and hear the thunderstorm blast just recently. The way the skies turn when the yellow thunderstorm sickens during a lightning strike reminds me of living in Texas. I always loved watching the sky yellow or green while it was sheltered indoors, while the storm was blowing out. But – unlike in real life – it's safe to walk around New HorizonStorms, and I can fish wholeheartedly as the sky shakes and the light behind me. – Charles Stark, managing editor

Umbrellas

Umbrellas in New Horizons they are more than accessories, and certainly not as important as the game's "tools." Also, I feel the need to keep one in my character all the time – I don't want to be caught in a rain storm without one! It was my pleasure to find that the umbrella had a small function: it shrunk! When I press A, my character rolls an umbrella and it sucks who the sound. The joy I get from the umbrella doesn't end there, either; I also like that, when I enter the building, my character shuts the umbrella before putting it in the pocket. – NC

Shooting bullets

Animal Crossing Fishing: New Horizons

Fishing has always been my career of choice in the Animal Crossing series, and I've already caught more than 1,500 fish inside. New Horizons. It does sound a little weird, but the Joycon HD Thunder makes the whole process feel satisfying. When you have something like Oarfish in line, the controllers start to sound as if they are about to explode. It sounds like a real struggle to draw one of those suckers, making those moments where you think you have the biggest kiss and the fun. And it makes all Sea Bass more angry. – Giovanni Colantonio, Quibi part manufacturer

Neighborhood confusion

I love it when I break into my people's houses to see who can DIY DIY recipes, and when I realize they don't do the trick, I leave without saying a word. When I do this, they will turn around or stop whatever they are doing, look at it, and make a "confused" answer with a question mark. They are puzzled as to why the island's representative has suddenly stepped outside their homes. I, too, will be confused as to why anyone did this. I might be scared, to be honest. However, I love that they do that. That's fine. – Julia Lee, journalist

Good response

The Polygon New Horizons character group makes a reaction

At one point my roommate, Phoebe, ran up to me all excited and I knocked her head over my net and I stopped her from her tracks. I never excused myself for hurting or missing (or temporarily) from any reaction they would teach me. Response is my favorite part of crossing Animal Crossing because it has so much flavor – from the kinda-creepy Shyness to the Apologetic Christmas, a great way for locals near you when using Sleep. I really like that these good animal friends have, in the end, taught me how to express emotions. – Jenna Stoeber, video producer

Music stuff

There is nothing magical to me, a music nerd, than the fact that the instruments you can play are not only compatible (just try to stand next to a friend, equip the ocarinas or panel pipes, and just go to HAM press A), but they automatically agree with anything KK I -Slider jam is playing. It doesn't matter how much you play or if you don't have a sense of rhythm; in a way, what you play will perfectly suit you. Your citizens will come and sing on their own, but if you place the instruments near a given speaker, they will start using them. – Karen Han, entertainment journalist

Stars

Like hundreds of thousands of lines, I'm studying astrology, but I never expected it to appear on Animal Crossing! I already liked how the night sky was Crossing the Animals: New Horizons shimmers are blue and green. When Celeste came from my island to tell me about the star pieces, I was surprised. But when I started taking out the “Aries star,” I was arrested. Collecting a star-studded furniture would be so much fun, I don't care if it goes against the beauty of my home. Now I check my island every night, looking for Celeste, so she can talk to me about the stars. – Emily Heller, commercial writer
