Astro Bot is a very good video game. Sony’s new platform game is full of great levels and lots of funny moments. And Astro Botis only getting bigger thanks to a free DLC update that may also add some characters only mentioned in the game’s credits.
On 6 September Astro Bot was released exclusively for PS5 and the world became a better place. Sure, the game is packed with PlayStation-branded content that almost makes it seem like a commercial disguised as a platform game, but the thing is… the game is really, really good, folks. However, if you’re already done Astro Botyou may have noticed a few cameos that are mentioned in the game’s credits but don’t actually appear anywhere. Well, maybe Astro BotThe free DLC will fix this problem.

“So we have free DLC. So it will be free. It will come this year,” said Doucet. “It will be small. It will not be such a huge amount, but it [will] let’s focus on one of the features that people have enjoyed in Astro’s playroom...the speed runs.”
While the levels are quite short in Astro’s Playroom And Astro Bot Compared to some other platform games, Doucet said, people love to optimize and save seconds when playing levels over and over again. This DLC will take that into account. And it will “add some characters we haven’t included yet” in Astro Bot.
Who could these new cameo bots be? Well, we may already know, thanks to the game credits. Don’t read any further if you want to avoid spoilers.
As reported by VGCthe credits in Astro Bot contain references to Assassin’s Creed, Beyond Good and Evil, Rayman, Croc, Worms, Stellar Blade, And Rise of the Ronin. No bots from any of these games will appear in AstroBot, even if you played Astro’s Playroom and picked up the bonus characters. So it’s likely that characters from these franchises will be added in the new DLC.
And if you are worried that the new DLC will focus too much on challenging speedrun levels, you need not worry, because Team Asobi also wants to add less difficult and more entertaining things to the platform game. Doucet described this additional, upcoming content in an interview with Quest daily.
