Atomic Heart‘s Testing Grounds are optional dungeons worth tracking down. Also known as Polygons, each one you find will give you more weapon mount blueprints. Once you get the Facility 3826 map, you can freely visit and explore these underground bunkers.
Here is an overview of all Polygon Proving Ground locations in Atomic Heartas well as detailed unlocking instructions.
How to unlock Proving Grounds in Atomic Heart
No matter which Polygon location you want to unlock, the main steps are always the same:
- First, approach this area marked in yellow as shown on your map, giving the approximate location of the igamesnews.
- Next, find one nearby terminal, a small white mechanism (see left side of image above) used to access any camera in the area. Attention: The terminal can be outside of the yellow area!
- While operating the terminal, you must Find a camera aimed at the Polygon’s doorand press the interact button to open this door.
- The last step is to find entrance to the igamesnews itself. Of course, since you’ve already seen the door through the cameras, try to go in that direction.
Each Proving Ground contains Bronze, Silver, and Gold Chest with blueprints. They have a very distinctive appearance as can be seen in the image above right. Work your way through the puzzles and enemies, and you really can’t miss them.
All Atomic Heart Polygon test site locations
While the steps above will teach you the basics of finding igamesnewss Atomic Heart, it is still quite difficult to find each terminal, open the right cameras and find the entrances yourself. If you don’t want to spend a lot of time searching the area, here’s exactly where to find each proving ground and what you need to do to unlock them. (Note that, as far as we can tell, there are no igamesnews proving grounds for numbers 3, 4, and 5.)
Location of Polygon Test Site 1
Approaching igamesnews 1 from the east, look for a big white platform with spiral staircase. The terminal is at the top of this platform. Use the camera as shown in the picture and then look for the entrance of Polygon 1 in a small blue building. The blue building is very close to the white platform you are standing on.
In Polygon 1 you will find the following loot:
- Fox: Ergonomic Grip (Bronze)
- MP: Expansive Converter (Silver)
- KS-23: Extended Magazine (Gold)
- Zvezdochka: Backshot (Gold)
Location of Polygon Test Site 2
The terminal is on top of the white platform with the spiral staircase, south of the yellow area. The elevator that leads to the entrance of Polygon 2 is in the little blue buildingbetween the terminal site and the massive Werk 01 building to the east.
You can snag the following loot in Polygon 2:
- MP: Electromagnetic Polarizer (Bronze)
- KS-23: Expansive Converter (Silver)
- Kalash: Thermal Imaging Camera (Gold)
- Snowball: Aerodynamic Polymer Alloy Attachment (Gold)
Polygon test site location 6
To unlock Polygon 6, take the elevator to top of the tall tower across the lake and get the terminal. Warning: there is a similar tower closer to the proving ground, but this is not the right one! You can see the Polygon 6 entrance from the tower; it is in a tunnel south of the boathouse.
Polygon 6 contains the following loot:
- MP: Extended Magazine (Bronze)
- Kalash: Collimator (Silver)
- Electro: Electromagnetic Emitter (Gold)
- Snowball: Battering Blow (Gold)
Polygon Proving Ground 8
Approach the gray building carefully as it is surrounded by enemies. You have to climb those highest part of the roof to find them terminal. This time you have to activate three cameras to access the igamesnews. The one to the south is a bit tricky; You have to look to the right and then down to see the interact button.
The elevator that goes down to Polygon 8 is inside the building. Enter through the main entrance (southeast side) and find the elevator on the right. Polygon 8 contains the following blueprints:
- Zvezdochka: Lower Blade with Reflex Booster (Bronze)
- Fox: Light Titanium Blade (Silver)
- Dominator: Vortex Transducer (Silver)
- MP: Turret-Type Bolt Frame (Gold)
- Sweden: Polymer Alloy Extension (Gold)
Polygon Proving Ground 9
This igamesnews proving ground is particularly tricky. While terminal is pretty easy to find – it’s on top of the blue house in the northeast of town – you have to find it first Reactivate the cameras. To do this, drop a tunnel as seen in the picture, in the southern part of the city. Be careful as it’s littered with monsters down there.
Once inside the tunnel, follow the path until you reach a room with four cauldrons and a door puzzle to your right. Solve the door puzzle, grab those orange glowing balls, put them in the transparent tube and lead them to the cauldrons. You have to repeat this for every boiler in the room until they explode. After that, follow the path to get back outside (use the polymer path in the last room) and go up the blue house with the terminal where the cameras should now activate.
The elevator to Polygon 9 is in the small hut behind the big statue. Inside you will find the following loot:
- KS-23: Collimator (Bronze)
- Dominator: Pulse Divider (Silver)
- Kalash: Electromagnetic Polarizer (Gold)
- Pashtet: Ergonomic Grip (Gold)
Polygon Proving Ground 10
The terminal required to unlock Polygon 10 is on the Upper floor of a wooden house. Climb the drain to reach it. The elevator to the igamesnews is next doorin the smaller building.
In Polygon 10 you can find the following blueprints:
- Kalash: Extended Magazine (Bronze)
- MP: Collimator (Silver)
- Fat Boy: Trap Mine (Gold)
- Dominator: High Intensity Modulators (Gold)
Polygon Proving Ground 11
The terminal needed to open Polygon 11 is in a high tower, much further north than the yellow area. After using the camera, head south down the path and enter the small gray building you just unlocked (right side, in the grass). Interact with the machine and then click HAWK maintenance. This will cause one of the flying surveillance machines come down, right in front of the little gray building. Grab this machine and after it floats back up, use that zipline come down
You are now in a fenced area with a small wooden hut on the south side (see picture above). Enter this cabin and grab this key disc lying on the ground next to the corpse. You can escape this area on the north side by climbing over the fence.
With the Key Disk in your pocket, you have everything you need to unlock Polygon Testing Ground 11. Walk south along the coast until you see them small blue building with the elevator. Solve the puzzle on the door, insert the Key Disk and you’re ready to start the hunt for the Polygon 11 loot:
- Kalash: Expansive Converter (Bronze)
- MP: Thermal Imager (Silver)
- KS-23: Dampener Polymer Shaft (Gold)
- Fat Boy: Homing Projectiles (Gold)
