Backbone announces Death Stranding controller for iOS version

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is coming to Apple devices on January 30th, and one of the best phone controllers around is getting a limited release to celebrate. The Backbone One controller has a design inspired by Death StrandingAlso included is a free App Store code for the game that can be redeemed for iPhone, iPad and Mac. According to a page on Backbone’s website that no longer shows the controller, the package will cost $125 when it becomes available for purchase on January 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

The controller’s yellow and transparent design is reminiscent of the exclusive DualShock 4 controller that came out when the game first debuted on PS4 in 2019. While Backbone was clearly inspired by the shade of the BB pod, I can’t help but look at it and think about peeing.

The Backbone One clips around your smartphone to provide power and, once installed, turns it into a pretty compelling handheld gaming console. It has all the buttons and triggers that console controllers have and should work Death Stranding complex controls much easier. Unlike the regular Backbone One, which only worked with iPhones that have a Lightning port, this is Death Stranding The version works with USB-C, so both iPhone 15 owners and Android users can use it.

There are a lot of strange elements Death Stranding: the energy drinks, the advertising for Ride with Norman Reedus, the thumb-sucking baby in someone’s throat. (The list goes on.) Some of his most fascinating fixations, however, centered around pee and poop. You can use both weapons and turn them into grenades, which actually makes sense considering the game’s story.
