Balatro, the popular roguelike deck-building game that is quickly taking over the world, has now sold over 1 million copies in less than a month. And good news for all of you Balatro Idiots out there (myself included): The popular card game is also being ported to mobile devices. I can finally stop playing Balatro on my PC and console and take a break to play it on my iPad.

Released last month on Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Switch (then unreleased on Switch), Balatro is a hard-to-put-down and incredibly well-crafted digital card game that uses poker rules and hands as the basis for a strange but entertaining roguelike deck-building that involves using special jokers and power-ups to create massive combos to achieve. Almost two weeks ago The game has sold 500,000 copies. 12 days later, the number has doubled and broken the one million unit sales mark.

As announced on March 18th, Balatro has sold over 1 million copies across all platforms. That’s impressive for any game, but consider it Balatro is currently unavailable on Nintendo Switch in some regions due to a ratings issue – and all copies sold in just 26 days.

In the tweet announcing the big milestone, Balatross The developers and publisher promised that “fun things” were planned for the future, but didn’t elaborate. However, in a recent Reddit AMA, the indie creator behind the game – LocalThunk – said he wants to add a run history feature and possibly a way to view all the jokers you’ve unlocked. The developer also said that it has plans to add a daily challenge mode as well. add“It would be so cool for a lot of reasons. I don’t have a timetable for it, but I know it’s possible.”

Additionally, publisher PlayStack confirmed in this AMA that it is working on a mobile port of Balatro for iOS and Android. They didn’t say anything more, but promised that future updates would be shared on Twitter and Discord. LocalThunk clarified in a follow-up response that they personally worked on the mobile ports of Balatro.

Now if you can excuse me, I would like to stop writing about this Balatro and start playing again. Thank you very much.
