We all know The Joker lost it. He carries out horrific acts of violence to prove that life has eternal comedic potential. But how many of us knew he was a * swallow * player? Not me. That’s up to a double sentence for the idle character RPG Figure fantasy started showing up around December 8th and this is what I discovered recently. And now The Joker’s true identity as a feared gamer has been revealed.

It’s okay if you haven’t heard about it before Figure fantasy. Neither do I. But after the game’s official website, it is a 3D role-playing game with idle characters in which you collect anime statuettes. These figures – think amiibo but in-game – can be sent on missions and displayed in virtual showrooms. You can also level them up and take part in PvP battles on Android and iOS devices. It seems cool.

But that’s not why we’re here. No, dear reader, we are here about a tweet from Niko Partners Senior Analyst Daniel Ahmad. Ahmad posted a video from one recently Figure fantasy Advert for The Joker talking about the game. And let’s just say it’s absurd. So absurd that I couldn’t stop laughing.

I mean, the opening line alone is killing me. “As a player,” says the Joker, “what makes you different from other players?” Perhaps it’s because this actor just can’t capture the character’s unpredictable nature in a minute and a half video game ad. (Though they certainly look more like The Joker than Jared Leto in Zack Sniders Justice League Suicide Squad.) Or maybe it’s just writing. Either way, all of the advertising that just creeps up as you can get strong Figure fantasy without supposedly spending any money made me laugh. Though he kind of has a point that everyone is playing games these days, the way it is all expressed is and the situation is so exaggerated that it is hard to take any of it seriously.

The best part? There are two of these ads, with Ahmad’s tweet being the second. The first, above, sees the Joker chastising someone for the characters they are about to have Figure fantasy The surgical team rushes in to confront him. It is terrible. Terrible acting, terrible writing, all terrible. Yet it’s probably the funnest mobile game ad I’ve seen in a minute.
