Bethesda hides the hottest Indy game behind a $100 paywall

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is scheduled to be released this December for Xbox Series X/S and PC. (And later on PS5.) And because we’re now in 2024, there are about 4 different versions of the game you can pre-order right now. And one of the more expensive editions is the only way to snag the hottest version of Indy ever put to the big screen.

Already announced in 2021, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the next big game from Bethesda/Xbox-owned MachineGames, the same studio behind the wonderful modern Wolfenstein

Games. It was properly revealed in January as a primarily first-person adventure game about killing Nazis, with Troy Baker as the voice of Indy. And something we mentioned when it was first revealed was how the game’s digital Harrison Ford was very, very hotUnfortunately, the hottest version of Indy that Temple of Death— will cost you $100.

After last week’s big news that The Great Circle will be released on December 9th for Xbox and PC and in 2025 for PS5. Microsoft is taking pre-orders for all the different versions of the game. And as you’d expect, these versions come with different extras.

For $100 you get the Premium Edition of Great circle, This includes the game, access to the DLC of the story expansion “Order of Giants”, a digital art book, three days early access to the game (ugh) and last but not least Indy’s iconic and very sexy Temple of Death outfits.

Locking arguably the hottest and best version of Indiana Jones behind a $100 paywall is something a villain in a Indiana Jones A movie or a book would be enough. Not cool, Bethesda.

(You can upgrade to the Premium Edition for $35 if you purchase the game through Game Pass, which is a cheaper option. However, you’ll still be paying for Game Pass. And if you upgrade the $70 standard edition with this upgrade option, it’ll cost $105, making it even more expensive than if you just buy the Premium Edition.)

In the meantime, you can pay even more money—specifically $190—for the Collector’s Edition of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This includes everything previously mentioned in the Premium Edition, but also includes a replica of a prop from the game, a large steelbook case, an 11-inch globe, and a journal.

It should be noted that the fine print of each edition mentions that DLC will be sold separately at a later date, so you won’t have to spend $100 one day to get the sexiest Indy ever. But for now… your thirst will cost you dearly.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released on December 9th for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will be available for PS5 in spring 2025.
