After Ubisoft recently announced They had wielded the ax in barbaric style, it was believed by many that any hope of the infinite was delayed Beyond Good and Evil 2 could now be calmed down. Seven games were canned in the last six monthsalong with yet another delay for the besieged skull bones, while other major titles have not lived up to expectations. In conversation with EurogamerUbisoft told the site: “Beyond Good and Evil 2Development is underway and the team is working hard to deliver on its ambitious promise.” Which is a very vague statement indeed.
BG&E2 an extraordinary was announced fifteen years ago, and was consistently deemed abandoned, then re-announced, forgotten again in the face of an E3 video that seems unrelated Beyond Good and Evildisappeared again and so on.

It feels to me like the saddest of all projects: a game that exists in order to exist without being visible to be more motivating. As a huge fan of the original game, I once craved a sequel, but not anymore. And especially not given how everything has been shown of it – of its ridiculousness starfield-like over-ambitiousness to its F-bomb filled bullshot CGI videos – felt like it had nothing to do with the game I loved at all.
Still, it seems infinitesimally unlikely that we’ll ever be troubled by its release.
