Blissey is coming to Pokémon Unite on Wednesday

Blissey, Coming, Pokémon, Unite, Wednesday

Pokémon Unite gets a new healer, Blissey, later this week. The Pokémon Company announced the new addition on Monday through its official Twitter account. Blissey will come to the game on August 18th and act as Support Pokémon, healing their allies and rushing to their side to protect them.

In the short clip attached to the revealed tweet, fans can watch Blissey throw eggs at damage and heal those around her. Bliss Assistant, Blissey’s Unite Move – Unite Pokémon‘s version of an ultimate – lets Blissey storm an ally and protect him from harm.

Blissey is the further developed form of Chansey, which is itself a further development of Happiny. It’s unclear if Blissey starts out as one of their lower evolutionary forms and levels up as the game progresses – as is the case with most Pokémon Unite – but it seems likely. In the games and the anime, Blissey and Chansey are both seen as assistant Pokémon who help the people in the Pokémon centers of large cities. Blissey and her evolutionary line are also one of the rare Pokémon races that are only female.

Blissey’s announcement may surprise the astute Unite Pokémon Fans. In a tweet in mid-June, the Unite Pokémon Account revealed that Gardevoir and Blastoise would be joining the game soon. Gardevoir already made it into the game, but despite early bots that appeared as Blastoise Unite‘s release, the water-based starter is still not in the game. It is unclear whether the addition was delayed or whether the Unite Pokémon Team is waiting to release the third and final Kanto starter.

Regardless of Blastoise’s status as a Unite Pokémon Brawler will be the next character in the game, Blissey. Start saving your coins now for their August 18th release date.
