For years, Blood transfused Fans wanted the popular PS4 exclusive RPG ported to the PChopefully with performance improvements and graphics options. And while FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki didn’t confirm that such a port is happening, he said he’s not opposed to it, saying that many people at the studio want a PC port.
Released almost a decade ago in 2017 exclusively for PlayStation 4, Blood transfused is one of FromSoftware’s (Dark Souls, Fire ring) most popular and most loved games. Like many of his other games, Blood transfused is a tough action RPG with exciting boss battles and lots of secrets. Unlike many other RPGs from FromSoftware Blood transfused was never ported to other platforms. It remains stuck on the PS4. This has led to people repeatedly asking for Sony’s own Blood transfused to get a PC port. And while Miyazaki has nothing to announce, he seems excited about the idea that this fan-favorite RPG will finally be playable on something other than a PS4.
In an interview with Miyazaki, PC Gamer asked the President if he would personally like to see Blood transfused ported to the PC one day.
“I know these guys have a Blood transfused PC port,” Miyazaki said, referring to the FromSoftware staff sitting next to him during the interview. He was quick to add, however, that he would “get in trouble” if he said he wanted a port, but that he wasn’t “against” a PC version.
“Of course, as one of the creators of Blood transfusedmy personal, pure, honest opinion is that I would like more players to be able to enjoy it,” Miyazaki said. “Especially as a game that’s coming of age now, one of those games from the past that gets lost on older hardware – I think with any game of this nature, it would be nice for more players to have the opportunity to experience that and revive that relic of the past. So as far as I’m concerned, that’s definitely not something I’d object to.”
Of course, it is nice to hear that the president of FromSoftware has a Blood transfused PC port, that does not mean that one is taking place. Remember, FromSoftware does not own the Blood transfused IP, Sony. And until Sony decides to fund a port, remaster or remake, FromSoftware can only vaguely say, “Yeah, we want one too!” and that’s it.
As we approach the game’s 10th anniversary next year, Sony will hopefully realize that they have a goldmine on their hands and all the company needs to do is release a teaser for Blood transfused on Steam and it’s flooded with pre-orders before there’s even a trailer. At least we know that everyone at FromSoftware is up for a port. Now we wait and see what Sony wants…
