Whether you believe the art you consume should be a distraction from the real world or a reflection of it is up to you and your capacity for curiosity. While for some reason such a divide doesn’t exist for film, music, literature, or television fans, it does exist for people who enjoy things like sports and video games. As a result, journalists who cover the latter areas sometimes face the absurd task of calling certain things “news” in weeks when those stories feel like anything else — because not everyone is interested real News.

This is one of those weeks. Hot on the heels of one of the most consequential presidential elections in decades, our biggest “news” of the week is actually Nintendo’s announcement that the Switch 2 will be backwards compatible with the Switch and Sega delisting over 60 classic games Crazy taxi (Sorry, Tim Walz) and other things that are obviously important right now.
