In my relentless effort to make my heart and controllers look good, I turned to Colorware, a company that has been designing game hardware for two decades. They make Joy-Cons custom colors for $ 150 and special limited edition designs for $ 200, which look and feel amazing.
There is nothing wrong with spending $ 70 on Joy-Cons shop couples with the right Nintendo colors to give your Switch an extra oomph. I just prefer the extra oomph: My switch with a wood sculpture by James K. Polk before. I killed at least Joy-Con and turned my original switch in Wonderland watermelon. When it came to collecting my second switch after transferring the original to my kids, I wanted something really good. Something like this.
On the left we have a metallic color called "Glamor Gloss." Right, the metal “Diamond Gloss. The color of the bumpers, optional on the Colorware website, is “Candy Apple Gloss.” Those three of the 32 different colors Colorware offers are matte and gloss.
Once the colors were selected, Colorware took the official Nintendo Joy-Cons and painted it. These are not third party shells – they are free for Nintendo with something extra. Compared to the Joy-Cons written, they feel wider and smoother. Due to the size of the extra paint they fit the Switch cheaply, making the system feel more durable in hand-held mode. The bumpers are lovely but very strong, which is great because I will eventually lose them in the cupboard.
If choosing between a ton of different colors and gloss levels is too difficult, Colorware also offers a variety of Joy-Cons limitation, as well as a fully adjustable console comfort. I fell in love with the 16-bit switch, its colors remind us of the Super Nintendo, even though it costs $ 600, double the price of an unregistered console.
Instead what I have in pairs Joy-Cons Colorware calls it "deception." This glittering beauty is complemented by iridescent paint that also absorbs light. The color changes from deep purple to a glorious magenta depending on how light catches them.
The result is difficult to see with the image, so I made a GIF. Look, paint the magic.
She's so cute. Colorware did too Change all of them with Illusion treatment, very good for words.
I'm excited about how amazing Colorware has covered my Joy-Cons with paint. I have been enjoying the company's work for decades, and approaching it in private is no disappointment. Look The Colorware website to see all the rest of their paintings, including the PlayStation 4 and Xbox draws, controllers, and AirPods.
It's been a while since we wrote about Colorware
