The hit battle royale game from Call of Duty, war zone, coming to mobile devices. The mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone was revealed Thursday as Activision began posting job vacancies and promoting it official twitter accounts.
The job advertisements on the Call of Duty website are fairly vague and don’t reveal too much information. Obviously this is a version of war zoneexcept on mobile platforms, but beyond that they don’t say much.
One thing the posts mention is that the game is being developed natively for mobile devices, meaning it will not be a direct port of the current version of war zone. The post also says the game is intended to keep players entertained for “many years,” meaning we can expect it to receive updates and changes just like the console and PC versions of the game.
If all of this sounds a little familiar, that might be because there’s already a Call of Duty battle royale game on phones Call of Duty: Mobile. But during Call of Duty: Mobile While part of the franchise, it’s not actually being developed by Activision’s in-house studios. Instead, the game is being developed by Chinese developer TiMi Studio Group, the studio behind it Pokemon Unite and a subsidiary of Tencent. Call of Duty: Mobile was first launched in 2019 and has since become one of the biggest mobile games in the world.
There’s no word on when yet Call of Duty: WarzoneThe mobile version of will be launched, or even what it will officially be called. Call of Duty: Warzone will also get a new iteration on consoles and PC, although it’s not clear if that’s related at all.
