Yungoos and its evolution, Gumshoos, are mostly just “dexterity-filling Pokémon”. Since they are their region’s respective “pest” or rodent at the start of the game, they won’t see much action in raids or the like. At least they have a cute pink shiny shape!

What is the shiny rate for Yungoos in Pokémon Go?

According to old research by the now-defunct website The Silph Road (via Wayback Machine), the shiny rate for Pokémon is about one in 500 on a normal day. Yungoos is not a confirmed Pokémon to receive a “perma boost” (meaning it’s a rare spawn and therefore gets an increased shiny rate).

What can I do to attract more Shiny Pokémon?

Unfortunately not much. It seems to be a coincidence. Shiny Pokemon catch rates are set by developer Niantic and usually only increase during special events like Community Days or Safari Zones, or during Legendary Raids. There are no consumable items that increase the rate of Shiny Pokemon.

Where can I find a list of available Shiny Pokemon?
