That was when it was announced Chris Pratt would voice Mario In the upcoming animated film, many have wondered: how will he sound in the film? And… we still don’t have an answer to that question, but this one Guardians of the Galaxy Star recently teased that his Mario voice sounds “unlike anything you’ve ever heard before” in the franchise. And now I’m scared.
In a recent interview with diversityPratt shared that he was excited for people to hear and see his take on Mario.
“I worked very closely with the directors,” Pratt said diversity“and [tried] out a few things and landed on something that I’m really proud of and can’t wait for people to see and hear.”
Then, for some reason, Pratt decided to take a moment during this interview to explain to people the concept of animated films and how they differ from live-action films, stating that he won’t be wearing a “plumbing suit” and “Run Everywhere” the location in the film. Again, don’t think a single person expected this animated Mario Movie Going Live Action But…uh…thanks.
Then the first parks and rec Star ominously teased his attitude toward Mario.
“I’m giving an animated character a voice,” Pratt reminded us again. “And it’s updated and unlike anything you’ve heard before in the Mario world.”
There are many sounds, voices, and sound effects in the Mario franchise. So if he doesn’t sound like that, how the hell is Pratt going to sound like when this movie comes out? Maybe he’ll scream all his lines? Or maybe every dialogue spoken by Mario is reversed, giving the character a nightmarish twist? Or maybe, and this is my own silly theory, Mario won’t speak more than one line towards the end in the movie at all, and this whole Chris Pratt thing is an elaborate trick?
It’s been almost a year since Nintendo confirmed via Direct that the cast for the upcoming Mario animated film would include Pratt as Mario. Since that precise moment, people have mostly been confused or disappointed with the choice, even after the film’s producer recently said that people’s criticisms of Pratt would “gone away” after they finally saw the film. I’m not so sure.
if you are curious You can read why so many people hate Chris Pratt here
And now what’s to come Mario Movie-which was recently postponed to 2023 and remains officially untitled – not safe to enjoy if you’re tired of seeing or hearing more of Pratt’s general dude-bro-white-guy shtick.
At least there’s a good chance this is new Mario The movie will be awful and boring, so you probably won’t even care to skip it.
