Complete solution to Sir Moore’s questline for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

Sir Moore is an NPC you meet early in Fire ring‘S Shadow of the Earth Tree DLC. He first appears as a merchant outside of Belurat, Tower Settlement.

Moore location

You will find it Moorealong with another NPC named Ansbach, outside of Belurat, Tower Settlement. He will not leave this first place – more or less (more on that below) – until the end of the DLC.

Moore first meeting in Belurat, Tower Settlement

Upon your arrival at Cross to the main gate Place of Grace On your way to Belurat, Tower Settlement, Moore and Ansbach await you at Miquell’s Cross.

On your first visit, Moore merely acts as a (lovable) salesman who sells you various things from the Shadow Realm of the DLC.

Meet Thiollier and give him the black syrup (optional)

Before tackling Castle Ensis, follow the road east and then south to find Thiollier. After speaking to him once, return to Moore and report back. Moore will give you some Black syrup to give it to Thiollier (who used it in Thiollier’s brew for the Priestess of the Dragon Communion in Igon’s quest line).

Find the seven Forager Brood cookbooks (optional)

Scattered throughout the DLC’s Land of Shadow, you’ll meet six of Moore’s Forager Brood friends – non-hostile Lesser Kindreds of Rot. When you talk to them, each of them will give you a Forager Brood Cookbook. You can pick up Forager Brood cookbooks 1 through 4 and also 7 before tackling Shadow Keep.

One of these pests – the one on the north side of the Crusade Church – will be in bad shape when you find it. Use a Heat stone To heal her, travel back to the Highroad Cross Site of Grace and then return again to retrieve the cookbook.

Once you have healed the Forager and picked up the Forager Brood Cookbook (4) from him, go back to Moore and he will give you the Forager Brood Cookbook (7). This is what you need to do before breaking Miquela’s spell in Shadow Keep.

Moore Invasion (optional ending)

Moore, as you may have noticed, is very fond of the Forager spawn. If you kill any of them you come across – after you get the cookbook from them, of course – Moore will ambush and attack you. (The trigger for this seems a little fickle, so it may actually be necessary to kill two of them to trigger the invasion.)

If you defeat him, you will receive his Verdigris large shield And Verdigris Armor Set.

If you do this, Moore will be killed and he will disappear from your game. Back at the Main Gate Cross, you will only find Moore’s Bell Camp.

Breaking the charm

Before anything else can happen to Moore, you must Approach Shadow Fortress. Just before you reach the entrance door, you will receive two messages – “Somewhere a large rune has broken…” And “And it also has a powerful charm.” Both refer to Miquella and the NPCs you have met so far.

It continues to the Main Gate of Shadow Fortress, Place of MercyBut not start the Golden hippo Boss fight yet – especially if you want to advance Hornsent’s questline. Instead, check in with all the NPCs you’ve met so far. When you’re ready, head back to the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace to speak to Moore again.

Give Moore some advice

Moore will not take it well if the spell is broken. Listen to him when you arrive and then talk to him. You have two options here:

• Leave it behind you
• Stay sad forever

You can also choose the non-answer “I don’t know,” but that ultimately leads to the ending “Leave it behind you.”

Leave it behind, end

If you tell Moore, “Leave it behind,” he will leave the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace and you won’t see him again for quite some time.

After burning the Seal Tree in the Church of the Bud, you will travel through Enir-Ilim. At the end of this journey, you will face Needle Knight Leda and her allies in the penultimate battle of the DLC.

If you choose this dialogue option, Moore will be one of Leda’s allies and you will have to fight him. You can pick up his items — Moore’s Bell Campbe Verdigris large shieldand that Verdigris armor Set – after Leda is defeated.

Stay sad forever and end

If you tell Moore to “stay sad forever” (you monster), he will say goodbye and leave the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace.

You will find his body with the Forager Brood on the cliffs north of the Church of the Crusade. Loot his corpse for Moore’s Bell Campbe Verdigris large shieldand that Verdigris armor Sentence.
