A rabid Cyberpunk 20177 fan wields a katana and demands more content.

players were hungry for details about Cyberpunk 2077‘s first DLC Ever since the game came out, but nearly 18 months later, the only official news has been more delays. But now the dam of secrecy around the upcoming story extension seems to have finally been broken. A dataminer has reportedly leaked hundreds of lines of dialogue from the planned DLC, which hint at new missions in the game’s Pacific region and a new main character named Songbird.

The files in question were apparently accidentally added to the game around the time of the massive 1.5 update in February, but only recently shared on Reddit by user romulus_ut3. The post and files that appeared to contain a huge chunk of English script for the upcoming DLC missions were later deleted, but not before dissemination on the Internet through the cyberpunk community.

The big highlight (above VGC) is that many of the new story missions (at least at the time of the leak, there appear to be seven in total) take place in Night City’s Pacifica zone, letting players explore previously inaccessible areas like the Sports Dome. Pacifica, home to refugees from Haiti’s devastation caused by global warming, is run by a gang of netrunners called the Voodoo Boys, who use their power to eke out a life and religious existence outside of the stranglehold of Cyberpunk 2077‘s corporations and corrupt government agencies.

It’s sun-drenched and bursting with color, creating a stark contrast to the darker, more conventional neon-lit streets in the center of Night City. To be clear, it’s one of the stronger parts of the underlying game and ripe for more content. At the center of these new missions seems to be a character called Songbird, who wasn’t in the base game, as well as a new part of Pacifica called Combat Zone. Hopefully it’s more inspired than it sounds.

Other notable details from the apparent leak is that it takes place before the end of the game and will feed into revamped endings depending on how you play. It also sounds like Johnny Silverhand, Keanu Reeveit’s Character, will play little to no part in this, which isn’t too surprising given the casting challenges and costs involved in getting a new voice from an A-list talent years after development.

At least one re-upload of the files was removed via a DMCA copyright strike by a group called Group-IB Digital Risk Protection that helps businesses protect against IP leaks, but you can still check them out a video clip by someone searching the folder names for the supposedly datamined leak on Streamable. CD Projekt Red did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Following Cyberpunk 2077After the tumultuous start and years-long saga of updates to fix bugs and fix the lackluster console versions, the X/S versions of the PS5 and Xbox series finally came out earlier this year. Accompanied by Update 1.5, which overhauled aspects of the open world, side quests, and skill trees, CDPR signaled that was the case begin to turn to other projectsincluding That witcher 4, the recently went into pre-production.

While the studio has confirmed that a major DLC expansion will still be coming in 2023, it’s kept quiet about anything beyond that, including a second expansion that, while never officially announced, felt hinted at by CD Projekt’s comments on the As Cyberpunk 2077 would have even more DLC than The witcher 3. At this point, I’ll settle for getting anything that isn’t another car or Johnny Silverhand outfit.
