Superman: Legacy found it to be Superman: David Corenswet (pearl) will play Clark Kent in the upcoming Warner Bros. movie, reports deadline. Rachel Brosnahan (The wonderful Mrs. Maisel) will play investigative reporter Lois Lane alongside her.
This makes Corenswet and Brosnahan the first known faces of the first new live-action film in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s reboot at Warner Bros. series of films based on DC Comics characters.
Gunn tweeted confirming the newsHe said, “Not only are they both incredible actors, but they’re also wonderful people.”
Audiences are most likely to recognize Corenswet from his brief appearance in Ti West’s historical slasher pearl, where he plays a seductive, gentle and creepy projectionist. While this role doesn’t exactly scream Clark Kent, there’s a certain charm both characters share—and pearl definitely gave him the look of an all-American boy.
Brosnahan is best known for her starring role in The wonderful Mrs. MaiselShe won an Emmy and two Golden Globes for her performance on the Amazon Prime Video show. She has also appeared in house of cardsthe Walter Hill Western 2022 Dead for a dollarand a viral Quibi short in which she stars a woman obsessed with her golden arm.
Deadline indicated that next on the Gunn/Safran casting couch will be the roles of fellow Superman Lex Luthor and typical Superman friend Jimmy Olsen.
Superman: Legacy is scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
